Hello, I am new to this list and wonder if anyone has any information on the Conkle family who lived in Etna, OH. We just returned from a trip to the Archives where we discovered that my gr grandfather, Henry Conkle, was born there either 1843 or 1847. 1850 census shows Henry's father as Samuel, b. 1810 and mother as "Hana," b. 1811. Henry and a brother Adam are both buried at Hill Cemetery in Reynoldsburg. Do I have any cousins out there? Samuel and Hana's children were Andrew b. 1831, Adam b. 1833, Mary b. 1835, Elizabeth b. 1837, Sarah Ann b. 1837, Lydia b. 1841, Lucinda b. 1843, and Henry b. 1847 (according to 1850 census) Henry listed his age as 18 in 1861 when he enlisted in the Civil War, but the census record would make him only 14. Henry married Lucina SHADWICK in 1865. Their children were Mary Edna, Frank Andrew, Edward E., and Siebert Ritson, my grandfather. Siebert married Martha Elizabeth Allen, d/o Stephen ALLEN and Nancy Jane MANN, in 1900. Their children were Beatrice, Martha Esther, and Carl Kermit, b. 1907, my father.
