The Ohio Historical Society has back issues of the Newark Advocate, as well as many other early Ohio newspapers, on microfilm rolls. I checked the OHS website (http://dbs.ohiohistory.org/newspaper/home.cfm) and it appears that their coverage for the Advocate begins on 1/9/1822 and ends on 12/31/1981, although there appeared to be gaps. The OHS site gives instructions on how to order these microfilm rolls through interlibrary loan ($3.00 per roll for 30 days of viewing), and which roll numbers correspond to each range of dates. Hope this helps--good luck!
