I'm encouraged to try again with this one too! (Hope another Angel is reading this!) John Hill, born 1779 in Orange/Ulster Co, New York, oldest son of Caleb and Rebeckah Rose? Hill (who are buried at Johnstown). John married Nancy PIKE in Luzerne County, Penn, with three resulting sons: John Jr. may have settled in Franklin Co; Caleb settled Delaware Co; Abram was in Hebron, Licking Co. Nancy died c 1820, reportedly in Licking. I've found two subsequent Licking Co. marriages for a John Hill: to Lucy STEVENS, 1820; and to Eliz. HATFIELD, 1828. This John Hill reported to have died in Licking in 1853 but I find no firm source for that. Also, many land records in Licking and which COULD be "my" John Hill.
