Samuel and his wife were buried in a family plot which later was abandoned because of the "wetness of the soil". In 1974 a grave marker for Samuel with a DAR medallion signifying hai service in the Revolutionary War was placed in the Utica North Cemetery where his son James DUNLAP is buried.
