Fran, I'm happy to assist you with Michael and Catherine Beem. In researching at the Balch Library in Loudoun Co., VA, I found a "Tithables 1773-1780" record that is UNDATED, page 1316, that lists "Richard Beam & Son Michael 2"; therefore, I conclude that Michael is the son of Richard Beam. Also from "A History of Michael Beem Family" by Nelson Beem, on page 9, a Mrs. Louis Beem in a letter reports that Richard is the father of Michael. Also, in Loudoun County Deed Book L 1775-1778 Richard Beam is purchasing 137 acres from William Hardy in 1777 witnessed by Michael Beam but, of course, that doesn't prove relationship. In "Tithables 1779" on p. 1282 there are four entries but nothing that states relationship. On one line "Richard Green, John Green 2" in the next column on separate lines: "Richard Beam 1" "Michael Beam 1" and "Benjamin Green 1". Benjamin and Elizabeth Green's parents are Richard and Phoebe (Unknown) Green. Reference is from two researchers, Gary O. Green and Robert L. Lytal. Hope this helps.
