Known - as in not known to be living at the time of John Jr's (Caleb's brother's) death 1849. The 1800 census enumerates 3 John Hills at Wallkill, not 4, as follows: 2--1-|211-- page 339 John Jr, same pg: Caleb; Bailey Vail Puff Weed --1-1|-11-1 page 341 John Sr --1--|--1-- page 342 John 3rd Note that Caleb's son John is not present. 3rd cannot be him because there are no children. Further, Caleb's son John's children are known to be born 1796-7 VA or Luzerne Co PA, and 1795-1810 Luzerne PA or OH: NOT NY. _________________________________ Rebeccah Rose. Son Isaac, and Tilton's son name Isaac Rose Hill. discussion: After the Revolution I've found evidence that some from Ulster/Orange moved south - it's only a short sailing trip. Example a Reuben Weed from Newburgh, Ulster, NY, to SC. So although we've been shown Rebecca as being from Ulster Co NY, and she may be, her parents may be from the south, perhaps VA. In fact early Licking/Delaware Co OH has a younger Isaac Rose. locally, 1800: transcription error as du Rose at New York > Orange > New Cornwall is Isaac du Bois 1800 New York > Rockland > Haverstraw.
