It is my gut feeling that my ancestor, Nicholas Holsbury may have been one of these settlers. They may have defected after the Battle of Trenton in 1781. > >He first appears on Deakins' list as a settler on lot 3854. He and his wife left Allegany County between 1800-1805 and settled in Licking County. One of his daughters married a John Greene. Possibly this is the same John Greene who was the son of Benjamin Greene who married another lady in 1815. Since I have been unable to trace a Sally Holsbury any further than her marriage, it is possible she died soon after the marriage without leaving any descendants. Another married a Trumbo (we also find this name in Allegany County (but sparsely). Several of the Holtsberry siblings married Harter sons and daughters (children of George Harter). > >I am going to be searching the Hessian records in the near future and would like to include in my search any Licking County names (near Hebron) that may possibly have a link. > >Karen > > > >==== OHLICKIN Mailing List ==== >visit: LICKING COUNTY GENEALOGY at: >http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohlickin/ > >============================== >Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records. >New content added every business day.
