One reason I thought she was probably a Taylor is that Mary Ann Woods my ancestor and their daughter married a Joseph Clark, now Joseph's father was William and William was married to a Mahala Taylor. Now I don't know how Jane and Mahala are related or if they are related but figured they were. Any thoughts on this. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: hemphillfamily Surnames: Wood(s) Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.licking/170.1431.1433.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I was recently in Johnson County, IN and located a death record for Jane Woods (d. Feb 25, 1888 Greenwood, Johnson County, IN). Her parents are listed as Ruel Wood(s) and Rachel Taylor. Ruel can be found in Henry County, KY in 1830 and Clark County, IN in 1840. On one death record of Jesse and Jane's son Jesse, his parents are listed as Jesse Woods and Jane Taylor Woods, on another it's listed as Jessie Wood and Jane Taylor. Based on Jane's death record, I believe her middle name was Taylor, her maiden name was Woods and she married a Wood(s). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. David's wife was Jane(age 44), children: Thomas (18), David(16), Jane(16), Robert(17 or 12), Owen(10), Catherine (8), and Margrett (4). All but the last child were born in Wales, like their parents. Margarett was born in OH. There is also another David Owens (age 76) living with them. according to this they weren't in the US until at least 1842 or 43.
