Jones, 89, of 68 N. 31st Street, Newark, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Criss-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joseph Mullenix officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mr. Jones died Jan. 9, 1994 in the Newark Nursing and convalescent Center. He was born Dec. 24, 1904 in Licking County, to the late Amsey and Myrtle (Divan) Jones. He lived in Newark 24 years, coming from Columbus; and was a retired supervisor for the Ohio Cartage Company. He also was a member of the Pleasant View United Methodist Church, the Acme Masonic Lodge, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Columbus. His wife, Olive Jones, died in January of 1993. Surviving are a great-niece, Mrs. Bill (Connie) Denner of Granville; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Two brothers are deceased. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home where Masonic services will be at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.
