Looking for the Ansel Hurlburt that may be the grandfather of Ansel Hurlburt Odell. Found Ansel Hurlburt b. 1750 Connecticut. Cound he be the grandfather of Ansel Hurlburt Odell b. 1800 Vermont? And if so, then who is the daughter/mother that connects the two? (And thus, would he be the cousin of Ansel Hurlburt b. Vermont 1796?) Would love to get past this brick wall!!Thanks in advance! You do not say where you "found" the Connecticut ?birth in 1750.? Are you familiar with the Barbour collection? This covers the vital records for the state up to about 1850.? Records in new England are kept by town, not by county, so you would need to know his location to find his birth, marriage and possibly death.?? But rather than going back and trying to come forward to make the link, you'll have?better luck doing it?the correct way -? backward in time from the known to the unknown.? Early New England records are quite complete.?? Janet Hall halltall@aol.com

I have a database for my mother's side of the family which contains Susie Williamson as married to George Miller, but has no ancestors or descendents. I've also got a tree for all Millers of Licking Co., OH which has a George R Miller as son of Charles Rusk Miller but with no wife or descendents. Further The Green Tree on page 445 shows Susie Williamson married to Mr. Miller. All of these are obviously the same George Miller. AFAIK the tree of George Miller doesn't connect directly with my own Millers, but there are many other lines which intersect and there may be some direct connections if we look through things. you can reach me at dedmod at msn dot com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. A good suggestion was made by one of our local members; NOW that they're back on, why don't we ALL send a 'big thanks' to the 'comments' area; maybe even going so far as to say how much we appreciate their efforts, etc. Ronna Eagle, Newark, LCGS ----- Original Message ----- From: "Denny Shirer" <drdx@neo.rr.com> To: <ohgen@rootsweb.com>; "Muskingum County Mailing List" <OHMUSKIN-L@rootsweb.com>; "Coshocton County mail List" <ohcoshoc-l@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 11, 2008 11:43 AM Subject: [OHMUSKIN] LDS - Ohio Death Certificates > Just to let everyone know, the Ohio Death Certificates are back up again > on the LDS Pilot Search Site! > > Denny Shirer - drdx@neo.rr.com - Canton, OH > Shirer Family Genealogy - > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mysong > Muskingum County, OHGenWeb - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohmuskin/ > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > OHMUSKIN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

I have that he was first married to Louise in about 1882. They had a son George O. Brison born June 1886. Next he married Amanda (Stump) Hitchcock in 1909. Amanda died 23 Aug 1919 in Licking Co. OH. Then he must have married Martha Ellen Hitchcock. This is very interesting!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you go to FamilySearchLabs, you'll find Amanda (only shows Amanda's father as Robbert Stump, with mother, Anna unknown) & Martha Ellen's death certificates; I haven't been able to find Alexander's DC yet. MRS. MARTHA E. BRISON (22 Oct.1858-23 May 1936) "Mrs. Martha Ellen BRISON, 77, wife of Alex Brison, 25 North 13th street, died this morning at 4:30 o'clock in the home after several days' illness. She was a native of New Lexington and came to Newark 15 years ago. Besides her husband she leaves a son, George Livingstone of Hanover; one brother, Samuel Hitchcock of Toboso and a sister, Mrs. Susan Minor of Hanover. A son James, is deceased. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 o'clock in Rocky Fork church. Rev. Allen Wilson will officiate and burial will be made in Rocky Fork cemetery. Funeral director: E.V. McCament." ALEXANDER BRISON (24 Jul 1860-10 March 1948) "Alexander BRISON, 87, retired carpenter and former resident of 25 13th street, died in a Toledo hospital. He was born July 24, 1860 in Fairfield county, the son of Henry C. and Emeline (Page) Brison, and came to Newark in 1898 from Millersport. He lived here until 1945, when he went to the home of his son, George Brison, in Toledo. His wife, Mrs. Martha Brison, is deceased and besides his son, he leaves a daughter, Miss Adieth Brison of Newark. Mr. Brison was a member of the Methodist church of Millersport and the Moose lodge of Newark. The body is at Bounds-Van Wey funeral home and funeral services will be held there Saturday at 1 p.m. Rev. Frederick Brown will conduct the service and burial will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery." I find it interesting that Amanda's first husband was also a HITCHCOCK! Martha Ellen's brother, Samuel Hitchcock married Lennie Mae (Levingston). Martha and Samuel's parent's were Isaac Hitchcock & Sarah Arnold. Wonder why his first wife, Amanda isn't shown in obit? His wife, Martha Ellen (Hitchcock) remarried after his death to Alexander BRISON. I also have her obit if you'd like it; she died in 1936. I've been doing research on the Licking County, Ohio Levingston/Livingston(e) families, for more than 30 years. Enjoy, Ronna Eyman Eagle, Newark, Ohio. Found on Page 3, March 27, 1915, Newark Advocate GEORGE LEVINGSTON - "George Levingtson, sixty years of age, died suddenly this morning at his home on the northern outskirts of Hanover. The family had just finished breakfast and Mr. Levingston had not complained of any illness. He arose from the breakfast table shortly before seven o'clock and fell over, suffering from a paraletic stroke, and expired a few minutes thereafter. He was a well known farmer and is survived by a wife and two sons, James and George Jr. The funeral will occur Monday from the Rocky Fork church and interment will be made in the church cemetery." P.S. I also have George and Martha Ellen's death certificates from "FamilySearchLabs". Plus obit for Alexander BRISON from our LCGS library.
