A Joseph Shaw and a Henry Shaw purchased land at the Auglaize Co. land office the same day as Neal SHAW in 1836. Sons of William or siblings is unknown. I'm a new subscriber and would like to see if any one can help with these names. Hiram Gilbert was born in Licking County, Ohio (early 1800's) he married a Sarah Smith who was born in New York and moved to Licking County. I haven't been able to find a marriage license but it also had to be in Licking County. They had a son Elias Gilbert (Born 10-15-1827 Licking County, Jersey Township, Ohio. He died 10-20-1906 in Madison County, Grand River, Iowa) he married in about 1853 I believe in Licking Couny but again can't find a marriage license. His spouse was Mary Shambaugh (Born 2-20-1833 Carroll County, Baltimore, Maryland Died 12-227-1901 Madison County, Grand River, Iowa) Mary's parents were James and Sarah Shambaugh. James was in the 1840 Census [State OH County Licking Location St Albans Page 338] Can anyone help with information on these two families? Thanks, Janet Hanson hanson@idir.net
I am researching the DANIELSON surname in Licking and Knox Co., Ohio, Joseph Danielson was born in 1819, and his brother Jared, 1816. I have been in search of their parents and siblings for quite a few years, and as yet, have not found them for certain. Joseph married Sarah HUSTON, and Jared married Mary ERMON. Their parents were believed to be from Pa., but not for certain. They each had large families, and alot are buried in Souslin Cem., Licking County. Joseph and Sarah are buried under the name of Donaldson, although there are other records, such as executors of estates, and probate records that list them as Danielson. Any help would be appreciated. Sally Mosholder

Actively seeking relatives of, and information on, John Chapman BAKER, (b. May 1, 1843, in Newark, Licking County, OH) who married Mary Amanda COLFLESH, on September 3, 1865, in Delaware County, OH. John served in the Union Army, during the Civil War. He is believed to have had the following siblings: a George BAKER; Electa (nee Baker) COLFLESH (b. Abt. 1848, in OH); a Julia (nee Baker) YOUNG; and William BAKER (b. Abt 1856, in WI?). John's father was reportedly born in Vermont, and his mother in Connecticut. Also, would be interested in hearing from someone with information about the stagecoach business, during the early to mid-1800's, in Licking County. I believe there might be a connection with my John. Thank you in advance, Veronica Baker
