Hello, Between 1823-1826 a Samuel PEA/PEE, his wife Mary (FIDLER) PEE, and his father Andrew PEE moved from Bedford County, PA to Licking County/Licking Twp, OH. Andrew (b.1760-1770) probably died in Licking Co. between 1830-1840. Mary also may have died there. Between 1847-1850, Samuel moved to Miami Co, Spring Creek Twp., OH. He died there in 1883. There were several children including: George, Ezra, and Elizabeth. Andrew PEE/PEA is my 4g grandfather, and I would be interested in any information others may have on this family, especially any cemetery records. Thanks! Paul PaulLee2@aol.com

Then i read somewhere that it was a girl's school. Can someone fill me in? >> A Female Baptist Seminary was started in Granville in 1832. Rev Hiram Gear was the Baptist Home Missionary Agent and his wife took the school for the winter 1832-1833. She had 25 students. A series of others had charge of the school until 1839 when it was bought by the Episcopalians and was known then as "The Episcopal Female Seminary". About 1850, they moved their school to Mansfield OH and resold the property to the Baptists, and it became "the Young Ladies Institute", run by Dr S N Burton, pastor of the Baptist Church. It changed hands again in 1861 when bought by Rev M Stone. Now...... earlier in 1832 (Feb), the "Granville Literary and Theological Institution" was established, which, in 1845, became Granville College. Today it is known as Denison University. It also was started by the Baptists. I would guess this is probably where your ggg Grandfather went. Was your Lydia Butler the daughter of Deacon Eli Butler and wife Lydia? Hi-I'm a new web user and don't know my way around. In the e-mail newsletter were the addresses for news page and news letter. I typed them in on a web search but get a huge long list of addresses there-do I have to go through the whole thing to find this or is there a shortcut that I don't know about or how to use. Thanks for any help you can give me! Grace from Indiana.

I need to find the parents of Moses French who according to family information was born in Licking Co. OH in 1811. As an adult he lived in Indiana where he was a millwright and a cabinet maker. His father's name may have been Hiram. My father, and now I, have been searching for this information for years. Any leads would certainly be appreciated. Mary-Elizabeth Pearson pearson@mother.com
Does anyone know if there's a location to get maps of townships in Licking Co., i.e., Bowling Green Twp.?
I'm stumped on my STUMPs/STOMPs. According to the 1860 Ohio census, J.A.C. (or I.A.C.) STOMP, age 21,born in MD, was living in Columbus with his wife, Elizabeth (STEED), born 1835? Licking Co. to Peter & Rachel STEED, and their year-old son, Robert. STOMP was my ggrandfather, but what was his name? The couple married in Licking Co, possibly moved to Pataskala for the birth of their son in 1859-60, then on to Columbus for the census-taking. J.A.C. (possibly known as Columbus) died of smallpox near an Army encampment at Rising Sun, IN (or OH?) about 1865. A few years later his widow, Elizabeth (STEED) STOMP married William S. EASTON, b. 1812-13, Newark, Licking Co. They had a daughter, Marguerite May EASTON, who married and moved to CA. Does anyone have access to birth, school, marriage, or death records for 1860-90 Lickinig Co, OH? Thanx, Mickey

Hi, I'm looking for information about Joshua Bennett who married Amelia ? (Mrs. Joseph Channel) January 30, 1823 in Licking County. The couple had six children and Joshua also had six children from a prior marriage. Many of the records are from Frazeysburg, Muskingham County, OH, on this family. The marriage was in Licking, however, so I assume Amelia Channel was from Licking. Any information on her or the Bennett family?
