    1. Johnstown Gen. Society
    2. Last week, I wrote the Johnstown Genealogical Society in Licking County, and my letter was returned stating "Box Closed". I addressed the letter to P.O. Box 345, Johnstown, OH 43031. Does anyone know if this society still exists, and if so, how I can contact them. Some web sites still list them with the above address. Thanks, Paul Lee PaulLee2@aol.com

    1. Iles family, Bennington Twp.
    2. I am researching descendants of Adam ILES, b. 1795, Rockingham Co., VA. He is the son of Henry and Mary (STINE) ILES. Henry was born about 1749 and is believed to have come to America during the Revolution as a Hessian soldier. Henry relocated from VA to OH about 1809, and is listed as the first settler of Bennington Twp., Licking Co., OH. Adam first married Jane CLAYTON and they had the following children all of which are thought to have been born in Licking Co., OH. Rheuama, Elizabeth , Jonathan, Mary Anne, Jane, John Henry, Sarah and Jacob. After Jane's death in 1839 Adam married second Hannah ABBOTT. They had the following children Adam, Melissa, George W., Sally and Orlanda. Adam died on July 16, 1857 in Licking Co., OH and is believed to be buried in the Bennington Chapel Cemetery, Licking Co., OH. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have information on Henry or Adams descendants. Visit my webpage at: http://www.my-ged.com/db/page/iles/4329 for additional details. Dwight Iles

I have an opportunity to go down there on Saturday and will have to take a side trip to the cemetery (with camera of course!). I descend from Nehemiah Harris to Joshua Harris (married Elizabeth Siler) to Perry W. (married Mary Ann Pound) who moved to Putnam County, OH. Perry is my g-greatgrandfather. One Mary Park, who is my ancestor, and Mary Wells not my ancestor. Patty, As far as I know, my Belt line was the only one in Licking County. I've outlined what I have below. I don't have Robert. I do know that some of the Belts in our line married into the Park family. As you can see, there were likely more children of Benedict and Rachel; I just haven't checked the census information on that line. Does anyone have access to the 1850 census of Licking County, OH? I'd love to know more. I get up to Ohio about once a month; I'll put this research as top priority next trip. 3. After seeing Conies message, I decided to stop being a watcher I am trying to find out some more about my ancestor, Robert Belt. He had 2 wives. One Mary Park, who is my ancestor, and Mary Wells not my ancestor. I saw an obituary posted on the Licking Co pages, which shows he is a real person. He was born about 1825 and died about 1890. Does anyone know who his mom and dad are? Or who Mary Park's mom or dad are? Or what happened to her. This family moved back and forth from Licking County to Union county. Thank you.
