    1. Re:John and Margaret Wickliff(e)
    2. I am looking for information on John and Margaret Wickliffe who were living in Licking Co. in the 1850's. I think they were married in 1851 and had several children, including my great grandfather Issac. Both died in 1869-70. John came from Ireland and lived with his uncle, George Wickliff(e). I only know Margaret was born in Ireland. I especially would like to know Margaret's maiden name and where she is from in Ireland. John comes from Co. Offaly (Kings) I think. Thanks for any info. 3. Thanks to the help of a lister, I have obtained an image of an ancestor, Thomas THOMAS, a private in Co. H, 76th Rgmt. Ohio Vol. Inf., who perished in the explosion of the steamship Sultana: http://home.att.net/~rpdonnell/images/tthomas.jpg I realize no one else will be as interested in this photo as I am, but because my great-grandfather Charles THOMAS was quite young when his father died and was separated from his family soon thereafter, the information I have been able to gather on Thomas THOMAS has been quite sketchy so far. This photo represents quite a breakthrough, and I wanted to share it! On the hope that a cousin may recognize a connection, I will list the children of Thomas THOMAS according to his widow's pension application: William E. THOMAS b. Apr. 1854 Mary E. THOMAS b. Apr. 1856 Ann THOMAS b. July 1858 Sarah THOMAS b. May 1860 Isaac THOMAS b. Dec. 1861 Charles THOMAS b. Nov. 1863 Ronald Thomas Donnell Cave Creek, Arizona mailto:rpdonnell@att.net

    1. William Campe/Mary Farmer
    2. Linda Fredrickson
    3. I would like some clarification, too. The dates mentioned for the births should throw some light on it. Mary Farmer is listed as being born in abt 1560, while son Thomas Campe/Catherine Barron is listed as being born in 1660--100 years apart. Makes it doubtful that Mary and William are the parents. 1. Claypool/Claypole in Eden Twp. Licking County, Ohio
    2. fallsburg1
    3. I am on a hopeless search. The widow Elizabeth Claypole/Claypool, with her daughter Emma, lived in Eden Twp. Licking County, Ohio in 1850. I believe she also had a son George and possibly more children. Elizabeth was born c1800 and Emma c1833. Emma married James Davis shortly after that, and remained and died in Eden Twp. Much of the settlement of that area was through Muskingum County, Ohio, and from checking the archives of this list I know there was at least a Samuel Claypool there. Is there any researcher who has knowledge of the widow Elizabeth? and/or a Claypool son who died possibly in his 30's or 40's? Any clue very much appreciated! I'm desperate!. 1. Re: Refugee Tract
    2. Linda Fredrickson
    3. According to a page from a book in the Salt Lake Family History Library, the townships included in the Refugee Tract were Etna, Harrison, Union, Licking, and Bowling Green. Fairfield County's Liberty and Violet Townships were included, as were Truro and Montgomery Townships in Franklin County--but not the entire townships. Harrison Township had the following parts included: R19T17 Lots 1-2, 16-21. I have a list of names according to Sections-the dates are from 1810 to 1829. To locate a name I would need the Range, Township, and Section Numbers. The book is called "Ohio Land Records" Starting with page 90 is the section on the Refugee Tract. Call number is #977.1 / R2c. The information given is the Section Number, the Name, the Date, and the Acreage. There is a smaller list of the claimants (about 50) in 1801 and in 1812. It gives the name and number of acres but not where it is located. For example, those who received 2240 acres by Act of February 18, 1801 were Martha Walker, widow of Thomas Seth Harding P Francis Cazeau John Edgar John Allen Receiving 1280 acres were Col James Livingston The heirs of James Dodge Jonathan Eddy Parker Clark and etc. Maybe someone on this list has a more detailed record? Tom, are you looking for a particular name? Linda F.
