    1. GILBERT and SLACK
    2. Crouse, Lyle R. and Patricia A.
    3. Hi, I am new to these lists (Allen, Licking and Clermont) and hope someone can give me some much needed information. My gg-grandfather, Lorenzo Dow GILBERT m. Temperance SLACK in the late 1830's I believe. Until recently I believed they had married in Clay Co., IN. However, I found a Lorenzo Dow GILBERT in the 1840 c in Allen Co., OH and land records indicate he purchased land there in 1837. He and Temperance are in IN in the 1850 c in IN and I believe he is the son of Ebenezer Gilbert who left Clermont Co., OH about 1831 for Clay Co., IN. Temperance I believe is the daughter of John SLACK, Jr. who was born in Randolph Co., NC and moved also to Clay Co., IN. Does any of this connect with anyone on these lists? If so, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks, Pat

    1. MUNSELLE from Licking County, died in TX.
    2. Note: the following was lifted from TXSSABA because it shows a Licking County connection. Texas, San Saba County Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 From: KarenC5071@aol.com To: TXSSABA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Munselle You asked about the MUNSELL family ... I find nothing in the requested 1860 census. I check the cemetary listings for anyone born PRIOR to 1860, and found the following folks buried in San Saba County: Emily MUNSELLE, born 10-27-1838, died 12-1-1902 Lorenzo Dow MUNSELLE, "born in Licking County, Ohio" January 1 1828, died 4-13-1907 Both are buried in the Richland Springs cemetery. This doesn't mean they were IN San Saba at that time, only that they were ALIVE during the time period you are looking at, but could have been living elsewhere. There are also a number of MUNSELL (without the final "e") listed, but of course I have no way of knowing if there is any connection. Do you have a few "first names" that I can narrow it down with? Please note that I am not the originator of the message nor do I have any Munsell(e) information. Just posted to help someone make a connection. Tom

    2. Peggy: If you have located the place and film from FHC in Salt Lake City. Your next step would be to order copies of those deeds from Salt Lake. That way you do not have to search through all the names and I believe you will find it cheaper than ordering them from the counties they were in. Rachel Demaree Clemons RDCLEMONS@aol.com
