Searching for information on Lewellyn (sp?)Eberhard and family. Thought to have lived in Johnstown area. He was born circa 1850-1860. Married to Mary ? circa 1870-1880. Family "lore" says they were the parents of 21 children, 16 of whom reached adulthood. Lewellyn's parents were David Eberhard & Christina Eisenhart Eberhard. It is believed the family came from Lehigh County, Pennsylvania to Seneca County, Ohio. Unknown if Lewellyn, his brother (William Henry Benjamin) and sister (name unknown) were born in Pa. or Ohio. Any information on Lewellyn and his family greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sue mchism@loganrec.com
I'm looking for information on Arunah Clark/Mindwell Everett's family and ancestors. Arunah died in Granville, Licking Co. in 1816. Arunah's son, Arunah, was born in Granville in 1788 and married Isabella Jeffries. I understand that Arunah was one of the original settlers of Granville. I'm especially interested in Arunah's connection to earlier Clark families. Thanks Earle Koeble dianek@tco.net

I would also be interested in the township map of Licking County. Thanx :) G

Hi Pat and List, According to a letter that my mother received when I was a little girl, in 1956, the Licking Co. Courthouse burned in April of 1875, and "all prior records were destroyed." That is at least how long my mother searched--and now I have taken up the quest, searching these past 3 years--to find my great-great grandfather, William PHILLIPS, who was living in Newark during the 1850 census with several children, among them, my great grandmother, Louise PHILLIPS, who was age 12 at the time. She later moved on to Tazewell & Mason Cos. in Illinois, where she married my great grandfather, Dr. Frank KEEFER. As for William, he seems to have vanished into thin air--and we have keenly felt the loss of the records in that fire! This is probably yet another vain attempt, but if there is anyone out there with information on this mystery ancestor, would love to hear from you. Susan Carlson
Can someone refresh my memory as to when the fire occurred at the courthouse in Newark. Did any records survive? Thanks, Pat Asher Columbus, Ohio pasher@ee.net Researching: ARBOTHNOT, BENNETT, BUXTON, STEWART, DIARMET/D'YARMETT, GAMMON, THOMPSON, HARE, CUNNINGHAM, AMBROSE, ROSE, SHARROCK
>I do know that they moved to KS in their later years and died there.< Ancestry just listed a searchable database with names from eastern KA for 1866-168. Maybe it will help. Searching for the ancestry of Nancy Baker, born in about 1807, possibly in MA, married in 1825, in Licking County, OH, possibly in Hartford Twp., to Titus Cooley. Her parents may have been Daniel Baker and Love ________. In 1841, Titus and Nancy Cooley moved to Jackson Co. IA, settling in Brandon Twp. where he died in 1883 and Nancy in 1867. Both are buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Brandon Twp., Jackson Co. Ia. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ken Hart kenhart@thegrid.net
Am seeking information about my 2g-grandfather's family. Horace Milford Wilson was born January 23, 1849 in Newark, Licking Co, to David D Wilson and Eliza A Green. They had four other children: George W, Ida J (m JW Hyler), Oliver B, and Truelee. At some point the family moved to IA. Would like further information (birth, death, marriage, etc) on the siblings and birth, marriage, and parents information on David & Eliza. I do know that they moved to KS in their later years and died there. Thanks for any help. Stephany Wilson Wingard
My grandmother had a restaurant at Buckeye Lake. Her name was Sarah Vadakin Wickiser. I don't know if her mother Sara Monnett Vadakin was part owner or not and I don't know what decade but must have been pre-1940s. And does anyone have any pictures of the old amusement park they can share. I used to go there in the 50s and 60s and I loved it. Thanks!! Rickie Bennett Longfellow
Speaking of strange surnames I can't find this anywhere. Thanks. Rickie Bennett Longfellow
Hi. Does anyone know if there was a "normal school" in the time frame of 1926? My mother's oldest sister Mae Augusta Wickiser was studying to be a teacher when she took pneumonia and died at age 21. I have so many pictures of her with her two sisters, Eva and Pearl and she was always hugging them etc. My mother always talked about her deceased sisters and how close they were. Thanks! I'd also like to know if any EASTONs, STEEDs, or STOMPs/STUMPs/STUMPFs of the 1800s are listed in any of the Licking Co, OH cemeteries.
