Andy, Type Cemetery in KEYWORD. It should take you to a site where you can select which country, which state, which locality. Patricia
We are looking for the Catholic cemetery in or around Newark, OH where my wife's mother is probably buried. Her name was Bernice Katherine Mitchell (maiden name Flanigan) and she died 31 October 1949. Would anyone know which cemeteries we might want to check? She would have had a Catholic burial. We will be in the area mid-August and would really like to find her grave if possible.... Many thanks. andy
Some of the Licking County families moved from there to McLean County, Illinois (my NEIGHBARGER family did). My gg-grandfather SPAWR may also have gone from McLean Co. to Licking Co. in the 1850s and married my gg-grandmother before her whole family moved to McLean. I know that at least one person on the McLean County e-mail list is researching MOATS. You could search the McLean Co. list archives to find whomever it is. There is a Web site at http://members.aol.com/rehfla/elihalsey/mclean1840.htm that has an index to the 1840 McLean County census. There are two MOATS heads of households in it (Jacob and Henry). Hope this helps! Hi Jack Lewis, Eliza Jane Armentrout is a relative of mine. She was born Elisa Jane Reynard @ 1850 in Shenandoah Co., Va. She was the eldest of eight children born to Elanson Reynard and Nancy McInturf, also of Shenandoah Co. Va. Elanson is my gg-grandfather. I am so excited, I have put in queries on the Reynards and this is the first time I have seen the name mentioned by someone other than my self. Matter of fact when I was reading the query I was saying to myself,"when did I post this?" I am willing to share all that I have on this family, what do you need???
Hello Everyone, I am looking for information related to my 3rd Great Grandfather on my mother's side, Dr. Tracy Scott. I know that he was the son of Obadiah and Thankful Scott, took care of the poor and was made guardian of some of his siblings. Does anyone have other information related to him? If he was a medical doctor, where he was educated and perhaps a obituary? Thanks. Mark S. Ellis R.T. In keeping with the request of Linda Montanaro, list owner, that the Licking County Genealogical Society's Computer Interest Group post the topics of discussion at their monthly meetings, the items of discussion are listed below. The Computer Interest Group of the Licking County Genealogical Society met on a very hot Sunday afternoon in Central Ohio on July 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the air-conditioned LCGS Library with 11 attendees. Computer Chairperson, Ron Trager led the roundtable discussion. Topics of Discussion 1. Ron noted that the LCGS Web Site has a new address at http://newark.lib.oh.us/pub_lcgs_web/index.html 2. One of the members had inadvertently lost the History, Mail, etc. buttons on their Microsoft Internet Explorer. These buttons can be toggled on or off by going to the "View" menu, selecting "Toolbars", and clicking on "Standard Buttons". 3. A brief discussion of electrical interference between a members computer and a wireless doorbell was held. 4. Another members was having a problem with multiple copy printing on two printers. Since she didn't have internet access to go to the printer manufacturer's web site, it was suggested that she call the technical support number. Quite often problems can be solved by visiting the manufacturer's web site which may contain patches to fix problems, newer drivers, a frequently asked questions (FAQ) area or an e-mail link to technical support. 5. Local Internet Providers was also discussed for those looking for internet access. 6. A member reported on bugs in Windows98 second edition. 7. A member noted that the National Parks Service has a web site listing books available at the Eastern National Bookstore at http://www.nps.gov/cowp/eastern2.htm 8. As a sidelight to the discussion on the National Parks Service, other discussions about Civil War burials in Shenandoah County, VA and the fact that Andersonville, GA has a card file of prisoners at that Confederate Prison site. Sites to visit: http://www.geocities.com/~methenyd/ander.html http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/5456/anderson.htm http://www.nps.gov/ande/ 9. A discussion was held on the difficulty of using a library for genealogical research when that library uses the Dewey Decimal System of Cataloging. Also discussed was Courthouse research and how the rules and access to the records can vary from one county to another. 10. Computer Chair and LCGS President, Ron Trager, noted that the inventory was near completion for the future move into the new Newark Public Library when it is completed. 11. Ron also announced the upcoming meeting of the Licking County Computer Society with a \ presentation on Lexmark Printers. Other past programs of LCCS was discussed. Site to visit: http://lccs.nextek.net/ 12. Ron noted that when LCGS consolidates with the Newark Public Library system, that LCGS will, most likely, have a separate region on the Newark Public Library's website similiar to a branch library. Site to visit: http://newark.lib.oh.us 13. A member asked why when she entered a date in the early 1700's in the program Family Tree Maker, it automatically came out as a double year date. Another member explained that two different calendars were in use at the time. Sites to see: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/dates.html http://members.aol.com/dearmyrtle/beg5.htm http://www.wmn.net/rowleytw/dating.html 14. A discussion on e-mail was held and it was noted that the recipient doesn't always see the e-mail address of the sender depending on the browser and e-mail provider's software. 15. The hasty release of software to the public without being thoroughly tested for bugs was discussed. 16. A member asked about the reliability of published sources for genealogy specifically in regard to Descendants of the Mayflower passengers. Sites to visit: http://www.cyndislist.com/myths.htm http://members.aol.com/calebj/mayflower.html http://members.aol.com/pilgrimsma/ http://www.mayflowersociety.com/ http://www.mayflower.org/index.html 17. A discussion ensued about the IGI (International Genealogical Index) and the LDS Family History Centers in Zanesville, OH and Reynoldsburg, OH. Sites to visit: http://www.cyndislist.com/lds.htm http://www.lds.org/en/2_Welcome_to_the_FHC/Welcome_to_the_FHC.html http://www.genhomepage.com/FHC/fhc.html 18. Opinions were sought from those who had downloaded the new Windows version of PAF 4.0. Site to visit: http://www.familysearch.org/OtherResources/Other_Resources.asp 19. A member stated that she had mentioned in one of the GenForums that LCGS has the Green Tree book has for sale. Site to visit: http://genforum.familytreemaker.com/ or http://genforum.genealogy.com/ http://newark.lib.oh.us/pub_lcgs_web/lcgspub.htm Below is an ad that I posted to the OHLICKIN-L list a few months ago. Hi, Looking for information on three brothers, Michael, Adam and John MYERS, who left Licking County between 1830-1840 for Union County, where they resided at Dover Twp. I am descended from John MYERS, who married Hannah WINN, probably at Licking County right before moving to Union Co. Does anyone have information on the parents or siblings of John MYERS and Hannah WINN? John MYERS was born March 1, 1812. Hannah WINN was born June 4, 1812, probably at Ross County. I have more info on my Myers' line at my web site, listed below. Thanks, Dee Kelly -- Rich and Dee Kelly Please visit our web site at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/8164/
I'm going to be visiting Licking for only about a day to do research on dead relatives. I'll be looking for information about William Sellers and his family, who I believe arrived from PA in about 1810, farmed there (perhaps in Johnstown Twp.) until the mid-1820's and then moved on to Delaware Co. What sources, other than the LCGS library, should I visiting? Also, I be looking for descendants of Winfield S. Patton (b. 1851) and Lydia Eleanor Sellers (b. 1851). I believe they lived in Granville. John Sellers Researching: Downing, Fullerton, Harbour, Mottie, Patton, Prosser, Purdue, Reynolds, Sellers, Wells, Wood

This program modifies Windows Explorer to let you view DGN files in Windows. It also lets to transform the files into more easily accessible CAD files such as DWG files. I found a free download of TurboCAD at http://www.solutioncity.com which will read the DWG files. (The downloads take about 20 minutes each with a 56K modem running V.90.) > > Does someone have a township map of Licking County that they could email > > me. I can open graphics etc. Thanks so much! Rickie Bennett Longfellow > > Can anyone transform these into a gif or jpg or something we can use? The problem with the maps seems to be that they are designed for county road designation. The chow the county, townships, and a number of major landmarks, such as airports, cities, roads and city streets. There are very few labels. For instance, there are no street names. And the maps are as of 1994. IMHO, I expect that the GNIS and Tiger maps are more useful for finding things today and finding things in 1850 will need different maps altogether. Best to try Cyndi's List and look at the Maps section. -- John Middleton, Leawood, Kansas Middleton, SCT>Liverpool, Eng>Chicago, IL, 1800-1920; Neely, IRL>PA, 1759-1900; Chid(d)ester, WV>OH, 1800-1900; Som(m)erville, Grasmere, Eng, 1700-1850 Web Page: http://www.planetkc.com/jmcpa -- Unbuttoned Press - Genealogy Publishing

I have come across the following Parker information, supplied to me by a cousin. The research was done by another cousin, Odessa Robbins, 1989. I would like to share it and see if anyone is part of this family. I will make it more brief than her article. After making some preparations, he returned and brought his family in 1803. He died about 3 weeks later. I feel he could have been from PA or VA, if not originally from Wheeling. The following are his children but additional descendants are only from our line, Thomas Braddock Parker, as I have entered them in my program. IF you think you may connect and want me to list the descendants that I have of generation 2, let me know. The children of William and Ruth McVey Parker were born and raised in Mary Ann Twp., Licking Co., Ohio. Carolyn (Anderson) Clark Descendant Chart McKean Twp.
