I have collected several Bowman family historys with Samuel Bowman in them which I would be willing to check out for you. I am sorry there is no connection. Hello, I'm looking for information on Christiana Dickerson, dau of Vachel and Siddy Dickerson, who married William A. Beem. William died in 1850. That year's census shows Christiana living in Vachel's household. I lose her after that, but believe she may have married a Ball. Does anyone have access to Licking marriage records that could look this up for me? Also need the same family looked up in the 1860 census. William and Christiana's children included William H., Elbridge, and Lewis C. Are there any Ball households with any of these kids residing in it, or a Christiana Ball listed as the wife? Thanks, Marceline Beem marceline@mindspring.com

For many years I have been stymied by the Licking County, Ohio courthouse fire. My great grandfather was born between 1818 and 1824 in Fairfield or Licking County. His father was either James Wiseley who died prior to April 11, 1835, in Licking County, or George Wiseley who died prior to May 30, 1839, leaving a will in Licking County. The Wiseley's were early residents of Fairfield County settling in Greenfield and Bloom Twp between 1800 and 1805. The George that died in 1839 was married to Elizabeth Green in Fairfield County in 1809. The 3 or 4 different Wiseley families lived in the vicinity of Buckeye Lake, with both James and George living on the north side close to what is now Millersport. George was listed in the 1830 Union Twp, Licking County census, and his widow, Elizabeth was still there in 1840. Surely there is some way to retrieve information when the courthouse has burned. I once saw a reference to the estate of George Wisely on page 23 of Book #238. The executor was Allen Wisely(Wisley) and the date was May 30, 1839. I know there would also have been entries in the Orphan's Court for both James and George. I have never been able to retrieve any help from the Licking County Courthouse. Were there any newpapers that I might be able to retrieve on microfiche? Any help or direction would be appreciated. Best regards, Charles W. Wiseley wiseleycha@aol.com

Hello all. Been reading you're postings for some time now, but now starting to take part. I have been researching the Fowler family for some time now. Have info. back 6 generations before myself. John Fowler left Maryland around 1812 and moved to Granville area. I found them again in 1830 in Burlington Township, Licking county. He was my great times 4 grandfather. His son, also John Fowler, moved to Shelby county Ohio, and died 1869. His son Benjamine, was brought back to Licking county, near Johnstown. His son Howard Fowler lived in Croton, Ohio. His daughter Martha is my mother. Most of these are buried in Tuller cemetery, on Rt. 62, just west ot Johnstown; now 4 generations there. If anyone can help me find when my great times 4 grand parents died; and where, i'd surely be happy. I believe his wife was Mary Huff. Not the one from an eastern Ohio county. Burlington town may now be Homer? They lived there 1830. Found no records since. Courthouse fire? thanks Larry E.
