    2. POWER I
    3. Hi Jim, does a Henry SHAFFER or his son, Frank Henry SHAFFER, show up in your line? Henry SHAFFER was listed in the 1850 Columbiana Co., OH census as single and living in a hotel. By 1854, he was married to Elizabeth CHANCE and had at least one child, Frank Henry. The SHAFFERs have been a mystery to me. Look forward to hearing from you. 1. HEATHS, John and John Calvin, KELLUM - Elizabeth, SHAFFER - Effie
    2. Jim Heath
    3. I am looking for descendents of John and Euphemia SHAFFER HEATH. They were married in Tuscarawas Co., OH in 1838 or 1839 and moved to Owen Co., IN by 1850. They had a number of children, Jemima, John Calvin, Peter, Francis, Hannah, Delila, James M. (Madison?), Susan and Tabitha. John was a school teacher for at least a while. I believe may have run across some of Euphemia's kin in Clay and Owen Co., but don't have their names in front of me. After Euphemia died in 1861, John HEATH married Elizabeth KELLUM and they had some more children. Peter HEATH died in a Confederate POW camp during the war. Francis and James M. HEATH had farms near their father in 1870. I am most interested in descendents of John Calvin HEATH since he was my g-grandfather. He married a Mary BOWMAN (possibly BEAMAN) in 1864. Their son, Maryfield was my grandfather. I believe they had another son, Marion, who died in Belle Union, Putnam Co., IN in the 20s or 30s. Mary died in 1867 and John C. left Maryfield with his sister, Hannah HEATH McCULLOUGH and her husband William Henry McCULLOUGH. I have no idea what became of Marion between this time and when he turned up in Belle Union. Family legend says that John C. HEATH then went off to Gas City, IN, remarried and had another family. I'm sure about the other family, but haven't been able to find out anything about them. I believe Mary BOWMAN was the daughter of John and Nancy BOWMAN who lived near John HEATH's farm in the 1860 census and had a daughter Mary aged 15 in 1860. I'm told John C. and Mary HEATH's marriage license says BEAMAN for her father, but haven't actually seen it myself. If you are related to this crew, I would appreciate hearing from you. I expect there was a family Bible, since John HEATH was a school teacher, but my branch of the family didn't get it. Does anyone know if there was a generally accepted way these were passed to the next generation? I would guess the eldest son got it. Did each couple buy their own Bible and start records when they got married? Thank you for your time and attention. Jim Heath "All these moments will vanish in time, like tears in rain." 1. SHAW surname/RICHARDSON surname
    2. Patrice Frantz
    3. I believe I am descended from William SHAW b. 1829 in Ohio. He is the son of Zachariah SHAW b. 1807 in Licking County. Zachariah died April 30, 1871 in Lewistown, Fulton County, Illinois. My great-grandmother was Ellen P. SHAW b. 1865 in Fulton County. Her Fulton County marriage record of August 6, 1885 to Robert J. RICHARDSON b. 1863 in Fulton County shows her parents as William SHAW and Margaret (Stevenson) SHAW. Robert's parents are shown as John R. and Ellen (Davis) RICHARDSON. I am attempting to verify that my William is the same William born to Zachariah in 1829. However, there were a number of SHAWs that came through Licking County and settled in Fulton County. I am also attempting to determine if there is a link to my RICHARDSON (sometimes spelled RITCHARDSON) line in Licking County. Some of my research points to that possibility. Thank you for any info or direction you may be able to give me on this. The vet rushes him back to an examination room and has him put the gopher down on the examination table. The vet examines the still, limp body and after a few moments, tells the Mayor that Willie, regrettably is dead. The Mayor, clearly agitated and not willing to accept this, demands a second opinion. The vet goes into the back room and comes out with a Black Labrador. The Lab sniffs the body, walks from head to tail, and finally looks at the vet and barks. The vet looks at the Mayor and says, "I'm sorry, but the Lab thinks Willie is dead too." The Mayor is still unwilling to accept that Willie is dead. So the vet brings in a Siamese cat and puts the cat down next to the gopher's body. The Siamese sniffs the body, walks from head to tail, poking and sniffing the gopher's body and finally looks at the vet and meows. The vet looks at The Mayor and says, "I'm sorry, but the Siamese thinks that Willie is dead, too." The Mayor, finally resigned to the diagnosis, thanks the vet and asks how much he owes. The vet answers, "$650.00." "$650.00 to tell me that Wiarton Willie is dead?!" exclaims the Mayor. "Well," the vet replies, "I would only have charged you $50.00 for my initial diagnosis. The additional $600.00 was for the Cat Scan and the Lab Tests". ====================================================== We pay Dollars for your $0.02 Join the online research panel at Esearch.com and get paid for telling us what you think. It's FREE, fun, it's easy, and it's totally confidential (privacy assured!) She would occasionally walk around to see each child's artwork. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "but no one knows what God looks like." Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the girl replied, "They will in a minute." ** On the Web: A trivia mailing classic. 3. Hello everyone, I'm still trying to track down my great great grandfather Joseph H Dent born in England, moved to Delaware County New York State in 1805 where his 1st wife died. Joseph then moved to Licking County abt 1820(+)(-) with his young adult sons, George and John Dent. Joseph remarried to "unknown" during this time period and had another son, Edwin. Joseph is believed to have died abt. 1834 in Licking County or Knox county. John Dent was known to have been a missionary and frequently traveled to Kentucky. Could someone do a lookup under marriages, births, deaths,or land titles? Many thanks, Sheila Dent

They all died in Decatur County KS and their death certificates show internment in the Oberlin Cemetery there. However, there is no record of them there. David Gibson BELL was a member of the large family of BELLs in Licking County and was born in Utica. I wondered if the BELL family had his body and family returned to Licking County.
