I have been on this list for awhile but have seen nothing on the list on these surnames. Any help will be appreciated. Samuel SMEDLEY married Caroline WHITEHEAD (or variations) in the early 1840's-probably in Licking County. They also lived in Allen County before moving to Illinois and then Missouri. If anyone has any information on these two people I would greatly appreciate it. Samuel was born in Williamstown, MA in 1815 or 1820 and later census records indicate that Caroline was born in Ohio, but I don't know where. They both died in Missouri in 1890 and 1891, respectively. The Thornley connection came through a marriage of Samuel and Caroline's oldest son, Richard. The only info I have is that D.M. THORNLEY was born in Ohio. His father was Reuben THORNLEY. Mother's name unknown. Any and all tidbits would be of a great help. Thanks. Looking for info on Peter and John Wagner, Mary Mury, Catherine Keith. 1820 to 1837 in Licking Co.
Howard G. Adams, The only ADAMS that I believe to be in my MOORE line is possibly from LICKING CO., is a Maria E. ADAMS who m. R. Milton MOORE and was removed to the Presbyt. Church in Bellefontaine, LOGAN CO., Ohio. R. Milton is believed to be the son of John MOORE from, but maybe not born, Utica, LICKING CO., OHIO. This is from a book I believe out of OHIO titled " PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH HISTORY". A few members of this partial family passed through and resided in the "Ten-Mile Area" at times. Does anyone have any connections here or know of this book. Perhaps this book came out of LOGAN or CHAMPAIGN COs., OHIO, and not PA? However, almost all of these Scotch-Irish families migrated from this area of PA at one time and are documented as far East to YORK/ADAMS Counties of PA, abt. 1745? Definite ties to KY and possible ties to MD??? All of this tied to the John, David, Samuel, Robert, and William MOORE families of PA. Please respond to: Terry Moore-Atlanta tcmoore@mindspring.com Researching MOORE/HOSACK/CURRY/MORRISON/MILTON/RUSSELL/PORTER/ASKREN/and many more from YORK/ADAMS?FAYETTE?GREENE/WESTMORELAND CO.
