Am looking for information on the family of Alexander CROSBY. I have found Alexander in an index of the 1830 Licking Co census. My line goes through his daughter Catherine who was born in Licking Co. How many of his other children were born there, I do not know. Also, in the 1830 census, is a John CROSBY. I do not know his relationship to Alexander at this time. An Alexander and a John are found in the 1820 census of Mason Co., KY. A letter from a descendant of Alexander tells of his moving from Mason Co., to Ohio, so I assume this is he. I have a pretty good trace of Alexander's family except for the details. What I do not have is any trace of a second CROSBY line. This line is for one Samuel J Crosby, b. in Mason Co. He married Catherine later in Shelby Co., IN. The letter mentioned before says that he was "a distant relative of Catherine". If anyone has information on either of these CROSBY lines, it would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has access to the 1830 Licking Co census, could you pass on to me the '1' and '0' count in that census for Alexander (p. 404, Newark Twp) and John (p. 430, Burling(?) Twp.)? Am hoping that Samuel is the son of John.... Email:photobuff@argphotoshop.com

The 1850 census doesn't state parents birth date. The 1850 Licking County census available online (also the 1840 and 1860) at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/census/states/ohio/ohio.htm I checked the index for Daniel Marsh, and he is listed on page 09 in Newark Twp. The page numbers seem to vary a bit with the index and the online numbers, so he could be a page backward (8b). Hope this helps. I'm looking for a marriage license for William J. Bertram and Achsah Rhoda Cole. They were married before 1906 because that is when the first child Nesbit was born. Her father and mother lived in Newark about that time so it seems a logical place to look. Can someone tell me how to get this information? Thanks, Romayne

I am looking for a Mary Farris, born in the 1840's. She would have married J. H. Egolf of Etna, Ohio, sometime after 1866 with her 1st child born in the early 1870's. I know this is vague, but their 1st son was named John Farris Egolf and I'm guessing they would have carried on the Egolf tradition of naming their 1st son with a middle name matching the mother's maiden name. All I have on the mother is her 1st name was Mary. John Luebchow
Researching Joseph Van Dorn and his wife, Hannah Sutphen, pioneer settlers 1818 in Pataskala area. In 1840 census, they have 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls. One child, Teletha, is buried beside her mother in Pataskala Cemetery; John, Polly and Jane are listed in 1850 census of Lima Twp. Trying to identify other children. Does anyone know if the Jacob Van Dorn and Richard C. Van Dorn buried in Pataskala Cemetery were offspring of Joseph and Hannah? Any leads will be greatly appreciated. Can anyone give me some background info on the town of Heath and the refinery? Was the refinery named for the town or vise-versa? Where might historical records be kept? Is it still in operation? My father was supt. of the refinery in the mid-20's. Would appreciate any help you could give. Joanne
