    1. Guiding Star tent no. 142
    2. At least one of my FARROW relatives was invovled with the Guiding Star Tent no. 142. Does anyone know what this is and if there are records? My Lawrence Brengle Farrow was put out of the organization circa 1887 when it was discovered he was living with a woman who was not his wife. Additionally, he had a wife living elsewhere (according to the Sept. 23, 1887 Advocate). I am trying to identify these two women and any children. Thank you, Terri Farrow -- WOW! My first topic will be the Marples and the Welsh immigration as it relates to religious freedom. I will be posting on the Lawyers and related families and the Civil War. Also, I think that I wil research some events not related to my own lines like the Boston Tea Party and those involved in it. I also heard that due to the new Bewitched movie that they are erecting a statue dedicated to Elizabeth Montgomery in Salem, MA where the the Salem witch trials were. Having traced my own ancestors back that far such as the Marples, it is hard for me to believe that those people seriously believed that there were witches. Anyhow my interest in history, makes me want to know about the the lives of my ancestors and researching other events might help others place their own lines. That is why I am creating the blog. http://familytreantiques.blogspot.com

    1. Livingston/Levingston researchers
    2. I know there are some "hard core" L* researchers on this list. I understand that though the earliest L* has been identified however all of the Maryann Twnshp/Toboso lines have not been connected to date. My questions are these; 1) If the first L* had land, wouldn't we be able to start tracing the lines as the land was divided? 2) Have all of the early wills and probate records been searched in an attempt to connect everyone? My line is Nimrod Livingson son of George W. and Martha Ann Evans (Maryann Twnsp and Toboso). I have most of the linage downward (my grandmother is still living) but would love to get these connected. Thanks again, Terri Farrow -- WOW! Homepage (http://www.wowway.com)

    1. Genealogy room
    2. Is anyone able to help me with my current situation? I understand the Licking County "will books" are kept in the basement of the library and are quite heavy. Is there a way to schedule the books for use in the genealogy room? Last week I took the day off work to do research but the books were too heavy for staff to bring up alone. I am trying to track down any and all wills, probate info, etc on my FARROW line in the late 1800's and early 1900's in the hopes I can identify relatives etc. Thanks, Terri Farrow -- WOW! The family would have arrived after 1985 and left by 1858. Supposedly, son Joseph Edmund was born there. I would just like to know if the family was indeed in Licking county at that time. I am hoping to locate Joshua's mother. (Father left for Mexican War but never returned. I don't know if he died or took off for California.)

The Atlas data has been scanned at 400 dpi and is presented in high quality Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). Table of Contents includes: Counties, Cities, Agriculture, Canals, Climate Map, Climatology, Colleges, County Evolution, Land Grants of Ohio, Geological Map, Geology, History, Schools and Seminaries, Post Offices, Railways, Statistics and Surveys of Ohio. Multiple adjacent county maps are primarily useful for identifying 1868 transportation routes, railroads, canals, streams and rivers, cities, towns and villages, and early Ohio place names. The 25 city maps in the Atlas are much more detailed with many early government and industrial sites including: * schools, churches and cemeteries * streets, roads and railways * rivers, streams and canals * race tracks and fair grounds * post offices and government sites * industrial sites, furnaces and mills * hospitals and asylums and much, much more The Adobe Acrobat Reader for MS Windows is needed to view, zoom, pan and print from the PDF map images contained in this atlas; and is included free on each CD. No other software is necessary. The map data has been created and configured using the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0) for MS Windows (98, 98SE, XP, NT and 2000). The maps may be viewed in earlier versions of the software as well; however, optimum use of the data can be expected using the Adobe Reader 6.0 that is included on this CD. However, I just started working the Duke line and am far from puzzling out all of the pieces. The Dukes I seek In Licking County resided in Johnstown. Of greatest interest to me is Levi Hoover Duke for whom my great grandfather was named. Levi Duke was born in Va. in 1795 and married Persis Chapin in Johnstown in 1822. Levi Duke was the son of John Duke born 1774, and he was the son of Francis Duke . Were John or Francis Duke part of your line? I have always been frustrated at not being able to ascertain the whereabouts of their burial as census images tend to indicate they lived in Johnstown for their entire lives.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DZB.2ACI/2502.1 Message Board Post: David, Not sure if you remember me... I believe we traded emails some time ago about Licking County history...possibly marriage lookups. At any rate, I would be most interested in obtaining JPG's of Green Hill. I actually hired a genealogist last year to go to both the Johnstown Cemetery and Green Hill and.... unfortunately... although I had successful results at the Old Burying Ground in Johnstown, she was unable to locate any of my relatives in Green Hill. She was rather elderly, and explained to me that the cemetery was quite large. (contracted poison ivy in her venture) I felt so bad! At any rate, any Barnum surname individuals would be of upmost interest to me. I am also seeking Wright, Kasson, Chapin, Duke, Priest, Baker and Green.. (there are more, but these are foremost in my line) I would be most willing to reimburse you for any photo's obtained. Additionallly, I am wondering if the Johnstown link would be interested in posting them online. (they have a wonderful history section, with historic pics' and what not) I can send the link if you need it. If it would be most simple to place them on disc and mail to me I will gladly reimburse you. Seems I am related to everyone in Licking County and would be entirely willing to sort through them myself. I will be happy to reimburse for any costs incurred including time and effort. Do let me know, Thanks so much, Christy Thanks so much, Christy
