As newsletter editor for the Lawrence County Genealogical Society, I am inviting anyone with a query about a Lawrence Co. family, to send it directly to me. I am starting to accumulate material for the August issue of the Lawco Lore, and will publish queries free of charge. It is a service to our members ot have as many queries as possible. The mailing address is needed because many members do not have (and many don't want) email. We currently mail about 250 copies, which includes about 50 to other societies and libraries where many will have acces to them. I will need your query by mid July. Please include enough detail to identify the individual or family you are hunting for. A specific name or two and a few dates are good, but just ta Family name and a time period you know them to have been in Lawrence Co can be enough. I am looking for any information regarding the family of John Q. or C. HAGAMAN or HAGERMAN, b.1844, who married Hannah Jane "Jennie" Dillon(1842-1871). She was the daughter of Vincent Dillon Sr. and Hannah Jackson Dillon. John Q. is known to have taken off with Hannah's brothers, Isaac Dillon and Peter Hamilton Dillon for Missouri in 1859. Peter Hamilton and John Q. eventually returned to Lawrence Co., where John Q. married Hannah Jane Dillon in 1865. This couple is listed in the 1870 Windsor Twp Census, John as a saddler. Hannah died in 1871. A presumed son, Bennie, died at abt the age of one year and was buried in the Scottown Cemetery in 1866. John Q. is not shown in the 1880 Lawrence Co. Census. However, the 1895 census enumeration for Lawrence Co. lists several Hagamans in Union Twp., but no John. Any additional information regarding this family would be appreciated. Henry S.
