Hey Don - Thank you for your email. I have copies of Warranty Deeds showing the sale of acreage in this area - the same acreage or parts of it so it seems - some as early as 1850's and as late as 1950's - and in several of these deeds it is specified that a certain area be set aside for a cemetery for H. N. Gillett and his descendants, so I was wondering whether any gravesites were there. I'll look at all of these more closely but I just again read one of these from 1906 when Rose Lee Fetty MacReynolds and W. E. Fetty sell acreage to J. O. Gillette and this is how it is written regarding this family graveyard - ".... excepting and saving out of the above tract of land the family grave-yard and a right of way from the public road to said grave-yard. Said grave yard is situated at a stone S. 760 links W. of the top of the bank and within ground is marked by four stones, 1, 2, 3, and 4 which ground is reserved in perpetuity as a burying ground of H. N. Gillette and his descendants.....". The tract of land that was sold was described as "the east part of lot number 720 and 721 of the Ohio Company's purchase in sections 22 and 23 of township1, range 15...." and then it goes into the details of how many "links" N., S., etc. Sounds as though locating these, if they were once there, might now be a lost cause. A Rt. 7 bypass? I can't get a mental picture of where that will be - close to Beulah Bapt? Thanks again.
