Hi! I wanted to let you know that I checked my Lawrence County reference books for this Turner family. I checked Hardesty's Atlas, published in 1882, and the Lawrence County History Books, Volume 1 (published in 1990) and Volume 2 (published in 2004). I didn't find mention of any of them in any of these volumes. I did find a listing of these four Turner obituaries. TURNER, INFANT: IWR FEB. 11, 1893 The Angel of death called at Mr. G. Turner's one day last week and took his infant to join its mother who died a few months ago. TURNER, JOHN: I.R. JAN. 25, 1906 TURNER, JOSEPH: I.R. AUG. 11, 1853 Died near Guyandotte, on the 30th ult., Mr. Joseph Turner, at an advanced age. TURNER, WILLIAM M.E.: I.R. DEC. 22, 1870 The I.R. refers to the newspaper of the time, The Ironton Register. I believe that the IWR is for the Ironton Weekly Register. Perhaps these obituaries can give you a start. There are two websites that could help you along your path. They are www.lawrencecountyohio.com, and www.scioto.org (follow the links into the Lawrence County information on that one). John senior went off to fight in the Civil War and was killed. Records show that Sarah Bevans Turner then married Daniel James Turner 6-18-1868 in Lawrence Co. They had the following children: Margaret Turner b. 1-20-1869; Laura Elizabeth Turner b: 8-21-1871 and died 10-8-1875 and finally my g. grandfather Samuel James Turner b. 5-16-1875. I am looking for any other information on any of these family members. They did reside in Lawrence County and I know that at some point Charles moved to kansas with his family.
