Greeting to all genealogists interested the six county Athens District of the Ohio Genealogical Soceity. That includes: Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, and Vinton Counties. I am Donald R Clark. I have lived north of Proctorville, OH, for most of my life, and have been actively involved with the Lawrence Co. Genealogical Society, OGS Chapter 74, since 1988/89. On May 21, 2005, I was appointed to fill the last year of an un-expired term on the OGS Board of Trustees. I am officially representing the Athens District. I don't pretend to know the answers, but will be happy to try to answer all questions anyone might have about OGS. If you are a local chapter officer and I haven't contacted you yet, please email me directly with the names and contact info for you county. I hope to visit a regular meeting in each county some time during the next three months. I also hope to resume having district meetings sometime this fall. It has been several years since we had a resident OGS Trustee, and there are probably several areas we need to talk over as a group.
