There was a Thomas WOOTEN born Feb 1859 in OH who married abt May 1881 or 1882 in Jackson co, Ohio Julia C. FIELDS born July 1863 in West Virginia. They lived in Jackson co, OH and had at least 8 children but only 5 lived to adulthood: Clarence, Anna, Nancy Jane, Ora Lester and Winifred Belle WOOTEN. Winifred Belle WOOTEN born 21 Feb 1898 in < Wellston, Jackson co, OH > married 1915-1916 Clarence E. HILL. When Winifred Belle WOOTEN and Clarence HILL were courting they lived in Kitts Hill, Lawrence County, Ohio. Winifred died 9 Jul 1925 at age 27 leaving 4 young children: Margaret Lucille (m BARTOE); Reah Laverne (m DOWNARD); J. E. male (m BOLIN); O.L. HILL (m THOMPSON). The youngest son [still living] was only 6 months old when his mother, Winifred B. (WOOTEN) HILL died. Winifred is buried in Mt. Carmel Cem. outside of Wellston, OH. Clarence E. HILL married two more times. (FIELDS) WOOTEN was connected to the FIELDS of Lawrence co, OH and of Gallia co, OH. I think there was a Winifred WOOTEN and James Cummings (Cummins) FIELDS who has FIELDS descendants still living in Ironton, Ohio.
