Luckily I have good paper records and will be able to recreate much of it. (it will just take a lot of time and energy) Also, luckily, I've posted to this board and can get information back that way. My question is about the geneaology program I should buy - I had an old version of Family Tree Maker before. It was OK. Does anyone have something they REALLY like? You don't need to post to the board if you'd rather just email me directly - msbg121@aol.com thanks, Martha (feeling frustrated and overwhelmed) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have worked with computers since 1964, and have been a genealogist for 40 years. I have had some significant successes in my research, locating my birth parents on both sides (my mother two years ago on the 17th of this month, and my father's family one month ago) after being adopted at the age of three months, and without opening the sealed adoption records. I have taught the use of computers for family history research and storage for many years, and have beta tested many software products, including a number of genealogy applications. I say all this to give some background. I can recommend strongly Legacy Family Tree, by Millennia Software. You can download the free version at: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/ The Deluxe Edition is only $29.95, and is an awesome program with a large following, great response to user concerns, and excellent features.
