Author: KSMaynard8 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.lawrence/3804/mb.ashx Message Board Post: After years of searching I've finally found that my gr-grandfather and gr-aunt are buried at White Cottage Cemetery off Solida Rd. I'm making a trip home to Ohio soon and would like to take my mother, soon to be 90 y.o., to visit her grandfather's grave. Problem is, I've also heard that White Cottage Cemetery is now on private property and there is a "No Trespassing" sign posted. After all these years of searching we could be really be denied the opportunity to visit our family gravesites? Please tell me it isn't so! This would be devastating. -- Kate Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Kate, Even if White Cottage is on private property, all it would take is asking the owner for permission which I am sure will not be denied. To find the owner only take contacting the tax office in the Lawerence County Courthouse. 3. That cemetery has been moved and there is a house almost in the middle of it that someone lives in. We walked the small cemetery two years ago and the person who lived in the house came out and talked to us and tried to help us find what we were looking for. When we were in South Point in June, there was no nontrespassing sign there. I can find out from my cousin who lives down the road from the cemetery, if they are no longer allowing visitors to the cemetery, if you want me to. I don't see how anyone can prevent people from visiting a cemetery. What name are you looking for?
