    1. [OHLAWREN] regarding Joshua Lunsford 1816-1891 Family and William Lunsford family-HELP
    2. Hi I have a William Lunsford born abt 1800/1813 Most likely in VA/WV and I  am trying to locate his family. This is what I do know about him; His name was William Lunsford and at one point he was married to a woman whose given name began with the letter "L."  I know this from the marriage records of 2 sons (there may have been additional children, I just do not have any info) of this couple, as follows; SON #1 William Lunsford JR b-24 Oct 1831 in VA(WV), NO County designated on any records!    I have been unable to find a birth record, this info is from his adult census records and his death record.  He died 29 Oct 1915 in Lawrence Co, OH. On the death record of this son, William Lunsford Jr it states his parents were William Lunsford and Martha Day. He married Martha A Morris (daughter of William A Morris and wife Nancy) on 2 Nov 1855 in WAYNE Co, WV, by 1860 William Jr and Martha Morris Lunsford were living in Lawrence Co, OH....On the marriage record it states that the PARENTS of William Lunsford (JR) were Wm & "L" Lunsford.....this does not match the maternal name info given on the death record.  But does match the maternal info given on Son #2, marriage record. SON #2 Andrew Lunsford b 1838,  Kanawha Co, VA (WV) (Could this also be where his brother, William was born?)  He died 27 Dec 1899 in Ironton, Lawrence Co, OH.  The LOCATION of Birth for Andrew is from his military discharge papers.....so a reasonable good source Andrew Lunsford married Ellenor/Eleanor Haws/Hawes on 24 Jan 1859, also in WAYNE Co, WV.  On that marriage record it AGAIN states that the parents of Andrew Lunsford were Wm & "L" Lunsford.   Confirming the info given 4 years earlier by his brother William JR. My thoughts and questions; I am assuming that both of these sons KNEW the given name of their OWN mother, much better than a person with 2 generations of seperation that gave the info for the parentage of William Lunsford JR on his death certificate in 1915.  I really have been unable to find any documents dealing directly with the parents of either of the brothers, WIlliam Jr and Andrew Lunsford.  So, I do not KNOW if their father, William Lunsford Sr may have been married TWICE and the grandchildren only knew the name of his 2nd wife, Martha Day???  Who were the parents of WILLIAM LUNSFORD SR born abt 1800/1813 & where did they live.   Where, Who and When did William Lunsford Sr marry? Were there other children of William Lunsford Sr with either wife, "L" or Martha?   If ANYONE has any ideas, clues, info PLEASE contact me......as this is one of 2 of my MAJOR Brick Walls..... Could Joshua Lunsford have been related to my William Lunsford SR, a brother?  Thanks in advance for any and ALL assistance and I hope I have laid out all of this info in a logical manner.
