Most of the posts in the last several months have been the queries and comments gate-wayed to the list from the message board. The whole idea of these lists is that we can post any queries and/or info we have to be able to connect with others researching the same families. I will start the ball rolling be posting the following info about my family. I am Donald R Clark, Ohlawren list admin. I am a Lawrence Co. native, although like most of eastern Lawrence Co., I was born in Huntington, WV. That's where the hospitals are. I attended and graduated from Chesapeake Schools. I grew up 5 miles north of Proctorville on Ohio 775, and live about 2.5 miles from there on a farm my dad and grandfather bought when I was 7. My wife and I will celebrate our 40th anniversary in July and have 2 grown children. I have one sister, who was born 2 weeks before I was 15. My dad was William McDonald Clark, youngest son of Delbert and Ada (Delawder) Clark. He died in 1986. Delbert and Ada were both from Aid Township, and in 1890, after their marriage, they bought a farm and moved to the northern edge of Union Twp, on Indian Guyan Creek. Mom will be 89 in May, but the dementia side of Parkinson's is taking its toll. She was the first child of Leroy "Roy" F. and Chloe (Morris) Ellcessor. Papaw Ellcessor drove a school bus for Fairland schools for many years. >From about 1954 til their deaths, they lived on Little Paddy Creek (now County Rd 70). Delbert Clark was the eldest son of Levi and Emily "Jane" (Rose) Clark. Levi was the youngest son of Cornelius and Elizabeth (Lambert) Clark. Cornelius died in 1860, and Levi stayed home to run the farm and take care of his mother and sisters while the next three olders sons served in the Civil War. After their marriage, Levi bought out his siblings interest in the family home, and they lived there until their deaths. Jane Rose was a daughter of Lewis and Margaret (Lambert) Rose, of Mason Twp. Janes' grandfather was Thomas Lambert, a brother to Elizabeth Lambert. Thomas and Elizabeth were children of Jonathan and Margaret (McFarland) Lambert, who were married in Harrison Co, VA (now WV), in 1797. Cornelius Clarks parents were Samuel and Mary (Darby) Clark. Samuel and the children were in Upper Twp before 1810. Mary died either shortly before of shortly after they reached Ohio. Ada Delawder was the child of Henry R and Arminta (Burns) Delawder. Henry was a son of John and Nancy (Davis) Delawder of Aid Twp. John was a son of Lawrence Delawder (Jr.) Arminta was the eldest child of David and Elizabeth (Smith) Burns, who were married in Cabell Co. VA in 1851, in Jackson Co, OH in 1860, in Lawrence Co in 1870, and back in Lincoln Co, WV in 1900. ELIZABETH SMITH IS MY GREATEST BRICKWALL. There are two possible Elizabeth Smiths in Cabell Co in 1850, but neither one is living with her parents. "Roy" Ellcessor was a son of John F and Ella (McComas) Ellcessor, who lived in Mason Twp for most of their lives. John F died in Columbus at 94 years. I can remember visiting him only a year or two before his death, when he was living on his own in a garage apartment behind a daughters house in Proctorville. John F was a son of Rufus B and Martha "Jane" (Sampson) Ellcessor, who both were born, lived, and died in Mason Twp. Rufus dad and grandparents were German immigrants who came through Mississippi Customs in January 1820. Jane Sampson as a daughter of John and Caroline (Fowler) Sampson. I am a member of First Families of Gallia Co with Caroline, b. 1820, and her parents, Elijah and Jane Fowler, who were residents of Guyan Twp, Gallia Co, before 1820. John Sampson was a son of Valentine and Nancy (Higgins) Sampson, who were married in Lawrence Co in Jan. 1821. Ella McComas was the daughter of James M and Sarah Jane (Lewis) McComas. Chloe Morris was a daughter of William C and Catherine "Cassie" (Rhanor) Morris, of Windsor Twp. William C was the son of William L and Louisa (Dunfee) Morris. William L was the son of Elisha Morris (who died in Monroe Co, OH in the early 1840's. His mothers second marriage was to J Capper. Their combined family was in Windsor Twp in 1850 The Morris, Rhanor, Dunfee, and many related families moved to Lawrence Co from the Belmont/Monroe/Noble Co area of eastern Ohio in the late 1840's and 1850's. Most of these families settled along Greasy Ridge (County Rd 2), at or near where Ohio Rt 217 crossed it. I would like to hear from anyone related to any of these families. 3. Some of those names (Blevins, Dameron) are in the McComas research.  Most of the searches for your area would be OH Lawrence, Gallia, VA/WV Cabell, Mercer, Lincoln Montgomery, MD Anne Arundel, Baltimore, and Harford. Look for Blevins as Beavin/en, Bevin are some of the variations I have seen.. Hope this help. --- On Wed, 1/7/09, Rickie <ancestorroots@columbus.rr.com> wrote: From: Rickie <ancestorroots@columbus.rr.com> Subject: Re: [OHLAWREN] Researching: Blevins, Earl/Earles, Patrick, Dameron To: ohlawren@rootsweb.com Date: Wednesday, January 7, 2009, 5:30 PM In Lawrence County I am eager to exchange information and maybe even photographs of the following family surnames - Blevins, Dameron, Patrick, Earl/Earles Earles - Jesse Peter Earles born in Pittsylvania Co Virginia in 1804 who migrated to Floyd Co, Kentucky then WV and then his son Jesse migrated to Ironton where my grandpa Howard Earles was born in 1894.
