    3. I don't know what 'gate wayed' from the message board means. Can you or someone else explain please? I have interest in the area because my Nelson ancestor Solomon and his brother Benjamin were early pioneers of Symmes Twp. I am in Texas, on a very strict and limited income, so referring me to county clerks and libraries or genealogy societies where I have to pay to get anything, isn't an option for me anymore. Neither is Ancestry.com since it's a pay site. I do rely on RAOGK to help me, I can't get around that unfortunately. If you have any suggestions that are free, anyone who owns books from the area that can do lookups and is willing to do them, I'd be happy to know. I'm looking for information on Solomon Nelson, his wife Eleanor "Nellie" McGraw. Also the brother Benjamin Nelson. I know they left Virginia and came to Symmes Twp. in the early 1800's as they were listed as some of the first settlers. They were still in Symmes Twp in the 1830 census. Here's more: Lawrence Co, OH marriages 1817-1843 Nelson Mahaley Alexander Boggs 103 Nelson Mary Thomas Cooper 41 Nelson Matilda Henry Warnicker 301 Nelson Sarah Pellington Merritt 187 1820 Lawrence Co tax list shows Solomon Nelson. Congrats on your promotion. I have been the list admin. for several years now, and all of you nice folks have made it an easy job. The biggest problem I have is that so few of you post info or queries. Most of the posts coming thru are gate-wayed from the Lawrence County message board. I attended the Ohio Genealogical Society 2010 Conference at the Seagate Center in Toledo last week. I had been an OGS Trustee for 5 years, and at the annual business luncheon, I became the Vice President of Development.

    3. Hey Suze - When someone posts on a Rootsweb message board, that message also displays on the related County List. However, the entire query of the poster does not display on the List - just a portion - so you have to click the link in the message go to the message board to read the entire query. Then if you want to reply, you must do it through the Rootsweb message board - not the List. Someone - have I completely messed up that explanation? Anyway, I'd be happy to check Ancestry.com for you as I do have a subscription. What do you need/want? Also - I have two Lawrence Co history books and a couple other references that I'll be glad to check for you. Can you be a little more specific as to what you have - what you need? I can check some things now. Regards, Nancy Edwards - Georgia - On Apr 30, 2010, at 2:40 PM, Suze in Texas wrote: > I don't know what 'gate wayed' from the message board means.
