    2. I had limited time, so didn't get the details of book and page, but I found Solomon Nelson as buying land, two parcels, in 1833, and selling in 1834 and 35. They were locking the doors as I went out and 1840/41 is as far as I got. The buyers index shows Benjamin Nelson buying in 1834, but he must have had land earlier, because the sellers index shows him selling land in 1831, 37, 38, and 40. There is a Benjamin B Nelson selling in 1837, 40, and 41. I might get back to Ironton late next week, and if so I can check for later dates, and get the book and page info on these. William in 1824. These were the dates land sales were recorded, not the dates the sale actually took place. Don Clark In a message dated 5/7/2010 11:23:13 A.M. Did you find anything at all when you went to the library Tuesday? You were going to look for Solomon Nelson and his wife Eleanor "Nellie", and Benjamin Nelson. for any mention of them up to late 1830's. By 1840, they were in Indiana. Thanks, Sue

    2. A partial index to the Lawrence County deed books was posted on the internet in the late 1990s by Heather Bowers. That site is no longer active. However, it was archived by the Wayback Machine, http://www.archive.org/ , and is available here: http://web.archive.org/web/20000831081334/members.aol.com/lawrohio/Lawrence/land.htm .
