Right - and I have looked at all the Census years. It is the James Eaton (married to Alice) you refer to who I'm quite certain is connected to my EATON line, but he's the only one I think I might have nailed. Initially I thought their son, James, was the one I needed to track, and then I started bumping into all these other James Eaton's on the 1930 Census, and I don't know if and/or how they might be related. Nor can I determine for sure who the parents are of the James on the 1930 who is married to Etta. Appreciate your email, Carl, and any other thoughts you might have. Is anyone else researching the EATON's of Lawrence Co or is anyone able to help me sort out the EATON's in P'ville on the 1930 Census? There are 4 James Eaton's on the 1930 Census for Proctorville, Union Twp, LawCo. I've been trying to track down each one and have found that the middle initials vary depending upon which Census year you're viewing, and this may differ from the online death certs so middle initials have not been helpful. I believe that the James Eaton, 63 yo, living on State Road with wife, Alice, is the son of Robert and Emaline (Long) Eaton. Correct me if I'm wrong. Then there are two James Eaton's who are 32 yo - one is living on Ferry St. in Dist. 16 with wife Etta, and the other 32 yo James Eaton is living in Dist. 17 and is recorded as married but no one else is listed in the home with him. Then there is a 67 yo James Eaton living in Dist 17, and he is also recorded as married although no one else is listed in the home with him. So here's what I need to know: (1) Are all of these James Eaton's related, and if so, what is the relationship? and (2) Who are the parents of the 32 yo James Eaton who is married to Etta? I'm pretty sure there is a connection between Robert and Emaline (Long) Eaton and my Eaton line which means there's also a connection between James Eaton (husb. of Alice) and my line. But I don't know about the two 32 yo James Eaton's and the 67 yo James Eaton - are they also connected to my Eaton line? Does anyone know these men? Thanks so much for any assistance. Regards, Nancy Edwards nsedwards@bellsouth.net - Georgia -
