Do you know her approx. birth year on that census? I ask because I have found some good information on a Lady family in the Lawrence Co. Children's Home in Ironton. This Harriet Lady in the orphanage was born 13 Sept. 1876. Gives great info. on her parents, and aunts, including maiden names of aunts. If your Harriet Lady fits this birth year, and would like more information, let me know, I'll send over the information on the family and parents. ---April. My great-great grandfather was "Judge" Martin Heckard (1809-1877), a lawyer in Pomeroy and many of his clients were on both sides of the river from Cincinnati to Wheeling. He also was one of the early teachers at Meigs Academy in Chester. He grew up in Columbiana and Jefferson Counties and came down to Meigs County about 1832. A few years ago I compiled property owner river maps for the year 1877 following his travels up and down the Ohio River and thought now might be a good time to make them available for everyone at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~moyer/Ohio-River-Maps/index.htm Please feel free to download them - they are large files - but excellent quality. They are in PDF format so you can print any section or part that you need - just save them to your computer. There's also a link on the page to another source where I found some Revolutionary War Pension Applications (original documents) for SE Ohio and West Virginia and I added an example. I stumbled on these because they were prepared by Mr. Heckard when he was a lawyer. Too bad the applicant were not our family . . . . the last name was Frasher. I hope you find the maps as useful as I have. Please feel free to pass this information along to any other mailing lists or researchers. My plans are to eventually finish the set which runs from Cincinnati to Pittsburgh as time permits. Good luck with your research. Bob Moyer
