My father Earl Carlton Blake 6 September 1922 - 9 November 1996 served in Europe during the war. His rank was PFC, enlistment Dec 1942. He lived in South Point, Ohio for almost 40 years. My mother also served in WWII. Her name was Marian Eliza Cutright 5 December 1921 - 16 October 2005. Not sure of her rank, but she served in the Womens Army Corps in Washington, DC at the Pentagon during the war. Her married name was Marian Cutright Blake. Searching my records for more details, can submit those later. Dave Blake

Thanks for the info. Do you know if either of them did live in Lawrence Co at some time during their lives? I would like to keep it to Lawrence Co men if I get enough names to do that. Private Frederick (Jerry) Madden served in Army of European occupation, in 4th Calvary Regiment mostly in Austria.. Entered service following high school graduation in June 1945 and was discharged in March 1947.
Father & Son: Samuel Elias Williams - b. in Ironton May 1891. Also served in WW I. Sam was living in Red Jacket, Mingo County, West Virginia at the time of his 1942 WW II draft registration card. David Monroe Williams (b. in Lick Township, Sept 17, 1916). Lived in West Point, KY most of his adult life. Was in the Army for a while during WW II, got out and then rejoined the Air Force in 1947. Sorry I don't have full records of their units they served in. About the only thing of David's that survived the St. Louis fire of 1974 was a single medical record of a visit to the base doctor. Haven't looked for any of Sam's records yet. I suspect most of his stuff burned up in the St. Louis fire of '74 as well.
