They left after their daughter was born in May 1845 and showed up in Indiana in July 1847 for the birth of their son. A descendant got a story from her grandfather that our Moses Davison (1804-1880) took his wife (Elizabeth Moss) & 9 children on a flatboat down the Ohio River and into Indiana. We've currently matched DNA to a Davison line out of Bullitt Co., KY and so we do believe that this story is true. I would appreciate hearing from any/all Davison & Davidson researchers to see if we can't pinpoint where along the trip we lost the father of Moses. He is possibly Samuel, born c1774 and he sold land in 1825 (Fayette Co., PA) with his wife Mary...and was alive on the census in PA in 1830 for Washington Co., PA. I have a photo of his grave monument taken some 15 years ago. His wife Mary is buried next to him. William G. Dillon should be corrected to William C. Dillon (1817-1903). This is William Cyrus Dillon buried next to his 3rd wife Elizabeth (Sowards) Dillon. I also have a photo of their graves. William is my paternal grandmother's father and son of McCager Dillon. There is a book on Lawrence County published in 2003 that contains bios submitted by family members. according to an article submitted by Vickie Bowman Jeffers: Anderson T. Bowman was born about 1815 in VA. When he actually moved to Lawrence County is unknown. He married Miriam Amanda King (born Nov. 15, 1831; died Oct 10, 1849) She was only 17 years, 10 months old when she passed away. Anderson then married Sarah Elizabeth King in Feb. 1851. Sarah and Mariam were sisters and the daughters of Alexander and Nancy Payne King. The children of Anderson and Sarah King were: (1) Mary Carolyn (182-1926) married George Marion Petry (2) John K born 1857 married Elizabeth Watson (3) Nancy (1858-1923)married James A. White (4) Sarah Ellen (1860-1923) married George Bloirch (5) James Finnel (1862-1934) MARRIED Martha Jeffers (6) Alma (born 1863) married Mary S. Watson (7) Jesse (1865-1932) married Sarah watson (8) William (born 1871) (9) Jerimiah Dillard (1875-1913) married Lieudema Watson The family at various times lived in both Gallia and Lawrence Counties and both Anderson and Sarah are buried in Kingery cemetery; however, she gives no death dates for either. If they truly are buried in Kingery cemetery....either they don't have any stones or the stones were overlooked when the Genealogy Society recorded the cemetery many years ago. Would Lawrence County marriage records have had names of parents on them by 1895-98? I would love to know who the parents were of Lizzie Hixon who married John Feely in the Sept. '95-Dec. '98 marriage records, on page 77. There is a John Feely in the 1900 census in Ironton Ward 1 who's 38 and widowed, and I'm wondering if this is my Elizabeth who lives on well into the 20th century, or if this is some other Hixon line. Henry Kingrey Cemetery which is located on Dillon Ridge, just beyond the Callicoat Cemetery. You will turn off of Greasey Ridge Road onto a dirt road (Dillon Ridge) and you have to look for a right hand turn onto yet another "farm" road ( a very small sign says KINGERY Cemetery) and travel through a corn/cattle field until you reach the gate of the cemetery. (4) one born 3-19-1892. I do have the Lawrence Co Cemetery Books here at home and there is no Squire Jeremiah Dillon listed in the Henry Kingery Cemetery and there are many more burials than are listed in the last posting. My next project is to go over and photograph all the stones in the cemetery. I went over on Memorial Day to place flowers on my grandparents' graves and it appears that there are several people who do visit the cemetery.
