    3. Hi Don! I wanted to share a fabulous resource that I have been using to do research for Lawrence County. I live in Colorado, and I have a large family. However, I am able to view old Lawrence County newspapers by borrowing them from the Ohio Historical Society (OHS). I simply fill out a form at my library, and they request a reel of microfilm that contains the archived newspapers for the period I requested. They process it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). It takes about 4 - 5 weeks for the film to come in, and I get to keep in at my library for about 4 weeks. It costs $3. It works great when I have something that I'm looking for in a certain timeframe. I have found lots of great articles about my ancestors in those old newspapers. I have to admit that my eyes certainly get tired, but it's worth it for all of the great information that I've found on my ancestors. I usually transcribe the articles and send copies of them to my interested cousins too, so I share the wealth (so to speak). The link to the Lawrence County newspapers that the OHS has is the following: http://web2.ohiohistory.com:8080/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=11265AI78D257.3853& profile=newspap&http://web2.ohiohistory.com:8080/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=110 72G52C7142.1&menu=search&aspect=subtab84&npp=15&ipp=20&spp=20&profile=newspa p&ri=21&source=%7E%21horizon&index=.NP&term=Lawrence&aspect=subtab84&x=4&y=8 #focus (it's long, I know). I hope that this helps someone! - Jean Griesan Colorado

I have not yet re-entered my Dilley info, as it seems that Anna (Dilley) Kelly's mother, Elizabeth (Acklin), seemed to have had different children by at least 2 different partners during her marriage to John Dilley. There is quite a bit of information on the Internet regarding this John & Elizabeth (Acklin) Dilley - most of which is riddled with errors. Best of luck in your search - Lynnea great great great granddaughter of Katharine Blair - daughter of William Blair and Elizabeth (Acklin) Dilley.

    1. Seeking JOHN ELLIS family from GERMANY--Early 1800s
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Ellis Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CZB.2ACI/2457 Message Board Post: I am researching my GG-Grandfather John Ellis who was born 1822-1833 in Ohio to German born parents. Note the time period is given due to his giving those (2) different years of birth on (2) different Census records, so have no idea which one may be correct. Story goes that he was born in Ohio to German born parents, I have no names for the parents. I find John Ellis first living in Carter Co, MO (1870 Census)after his migration from Ohio. He notes that he was born in Ohio on other census records and that his parents were foreign born, more specifically GERMANY. He had (2) sons William and Joshua as well as several daughters. IF you have any information to help me on this research I would greatly appreciate it! Any recommendations are appreciated as I have no known county of birth.
