    1. Albert Snell Obituary
    2. Tom Griesan
    3. Hi! Here is an article that tells of the death of Albert Snell. I'm sorry that this story is a little gruesome. - Jean Griesan Colorado Shocking Accident near South Point. - Last Wednesday evening, while threshing wheat at Samuel Bowman's, the machine getting out of fix, Mr. Albert Snell stepped on the apron, or table, for the purpose of adjusting the matter, when the apron gave way, throwing him against the cylinder. His left knee struck the teeth first, and almost instantly his leg, from the hip down, was cut in shreds, the bone being broken and mashed into fine pieces. He was removed to the house and physicians sent for, who did all they could for the sufferer. On Monday morning Drs. C. Hall and Mears, of Burlington, C. StC. Hall, of Ceredo, and Dr. Jona Morris, of this city, made an amputation just below the hip joint. The amputation was neatly and quickly performed, but the system had been too severely shocked by the injury to rally again completely. After the influence of the chloroform had left him, he conversed freely, saying he did not suffer much from pain, but he gradually sank and died about 4 P.M. Mr. Snell was an old citizen of our county, and much respected by all who knew him. He leaves a large family. Ironton Journal, August 18, 1869

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CZB.2ACI/2468 Message Board Post: Looking for death info on Christina Hall, daughter of Jesse Hall and his wife Nancy. She married 1. Alexander Baldwin and had 4 chilren by him. they were divorced in 1873. She married 2. James Rayburn in December 1873 in Greenup Co. Apparently she and James separated, they divorced or he died, as she lists herself as widow of James in the 1897 Boyd Co city directory. In 1903, she married husband #3, Wilburn Swift, in Boyd Co. They disappear from the area after their marriage. I have been trying to find date of death and burial for Christina. Can any of my Hall or Baldwin kin help me find her? I cannot find her in SSDI, or in Ky or OH death indexes, which begin in 1911, so it is entirely possible she died before then. Any info on the death of Christina very much appreciated!
