MARCY KENDALL is listed as a "retired housekeeper", age 92, in the US Census of 1860. At that time she was living with her daughter, 59 year old CHARLOTTE KENDALL BARRETT. To date I have been unable to locate any death or cemetery records for either. The book, Pioneer Women of Ohio, indicates that Marcy died at the age of 95 but gives no documentation of any kind for their statement. In the same source it is stated that Charlotte died as Mrs. Myron Whiting in 1868. A cursory examination of Myron Whiting data would indicate that assertion is incorrect. It would appear that Whiting's first wife, Rhoda, died in 1830, he married Lucy Proctor in Trumbull County in January 1831, and he must have married again, but it looks like his third wife was someone named Helen. (It's possible there was another Mrs. Whiting between Lucy and Helen, but I found no evidence of that. -- Remember: I said I only did a cursory exam of Whiting's records!) Is there anyone who recognizes any of these names or could enlighten me further about these people -- especial Marcy and Charlotte? All information and suggestions will be most welcome.
