Hi Everyone, I'm researching the TURNEY & MARTIN families. James M. TURNEY was b. in CT in 1788. He was in Ashtabula Co, OH, by 1812 when he married Sarah "Sally" MARTIN. Rev. Jonathan Leslie of the Presbyterian Church in Harpersfield performed the ceremony. James and Sally were in Painesville Twp, then Geauga Co, OH, by 1820. In 1840 they were living in Madison Twp, Lake Co, OH. James d. in Madison in 1855 according to his tombstone and on 26 feb 1858 according to an obituary index. An obituary was published on 13 Mar 1858 according to the index, but it could not be found in the "Painesville Telegraph." Children of JAMES TURNEY and SARAH MARTIN are: i. ABBY2 TURNEY. ii.
