Rev. Samuel Wire and his wife (Abigail Sherman) came to the Lake Co. area about 1834 from Yates Co., NY. I have had good luck (and lots of help) in finding information about 9 of their 11 children. My great-grandfather William Almeron Wire m. Carolyn Rosette Powers (daughter of Benjamin and Ann Cummings Powers) in 1853, and there are good marriage records for most of her siblings. I am particularly interested in finding where Samuel and Abigail lived between 1834 and 1840, as Abigail died in NY in 1842. I also need a death record for one daughter who died about 16 years of age, and a second daughter whose name we have not been able to find.
