Wilson, 78, a resident of Painesville since 1914, passed away at the home of her son, Reginald C. Wilson, of Madison Ave., Sunday night following a short illness. Mrs. Wilson had worked until recently at the Wilson-Foster Florist Shop, which she and her late husband, Archibald, who died in 1940, had founded. She had been associated with the florist business for the past 40 years in Cleveland, Willoughby and Painesville. Born in England, Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Urania Chapter 284, Order of Eastern Star and the First Church of Christ, Scientist. Besides her son, Reginald C. Wilson, Mrs. WIlson is also survived by a foster son, William Foster of Madison Ave., three grandsons, Donald, Robert and Clifford Wilson and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Nixon Funeral Home tonight where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Phillip Barto of Erie, Pa., Christian Scientist Reader, will conduct the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. (same newspaper, Wednesday, January 26, 1949) Mrs. Annie Wilson Is Laid To Rest Funeral services for Mrs. Annie C. Wilson, 78, who died Sunday night at the home of her son, Reginald C. Wilson of Madison Ave., were held Tuesday afternoon at the Nixon Funeral Home. Phillip Barto of Erie, Pa., Christian Science Reader, was in charge. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Pall bearers were William Peschke, William WIlson, Horace Wilson, James Caruthers, Stanley Ford and John Hoffman. An abundance of floral remembrances marked the high regard in which Mrs. WIlson had been held. She became well known particularly through her association in the florist business for 40 years before her recent retirement.
