Only a week to go and Woodland Cemetery will be having its Sesquicentennial (150th) Celebration. This celebration is to honor the history and all people buried there. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohclecem/woodland150.html A few additional notes: If you don't know where your ancestors are located, there will be index books on hand to look up where they are at. There will be port-a-johns on site since the cemetery does not have bathrooms or an office. If you are worried about the neighborhood or parking, there will be regular police, auxiliary police and traffic controllers on duty that day along with EMS. As for people wondering if they need a police escort or to carry a gun while going there any other time is a complete myth. I have been there many times by myself and never had any problems there. So please, if you can't make the event go another time. It is a wonderful beautiful cemetery. Just be a little cautious no matter what cemetery you are in. Even the ones you think are the safest may have an incident. Remember to bring a picnic basket, lawn chair, camera and have fun. I hope to see you there next Saturday (Pray no rain!!.) Michelle A.
