I'm trying to find the name of an oldest son for a couple who died in Painesville. Gilbert Titus d. 30 June 1862. Almera Whitney Titus d. 6 Oct. 1863. The estate record for Almera shows the name of Hiram Austin Titus, but indicates he is her brother-in-law. There was a younger Hiram Austin Titus also. Yet Gilbert and Almera seem to have a son older than the daughters I have found to be his. The census has not proved helpful in resolving this problem, nor has anything I've checked so far.
