The 1840 census for Mentor shows a head of family named Jacob Hoose , with several sons and daughters........1850 shows Jacob 53(only it is spelled Hose)and Sabrina 48 with these children?: Ezra 21, Michael, 52?, Nelson 18, Jacob 16, Charles 11, Albert 5, Laura 23, Olive 13, Lucy Ann 18, and Martha 3. It appears the family came to Ohio from New York. Have you found each child in a later census?
