I am so stuck...I have a George B. Tuttle who married a Wealthy A. Rockafellow in 1855 Geauga Co., Ohio. Children: Frank H., Marian (Mattie), William O. and Charles About 1863 George is missing and Wealthy and the boys (where is Mattie?) are in Lake Co. Ohio Infirmary. Three days later they leave "we assume to Detroit". I cannot find them in the census records for Ohio or Michigan from 1870 on.. I would assume George may have died in Wayne Co., Michigan. Wealthy may have farmed the children out to other people, and possible they took the last name of who ever they lived with at the time. 1891 Frank married May Bentley in Detroit, Michigan and it shows he lived in Cleveland, Ohio. I have information for Frank, my great grandfather. What happened to Mattie, William O. and Charles? William O. does show up on an 1885 Caldwell Sumner Co, KS census as a stagecoach driver arriving from Arkansas. I have no idea what happened to Wealthy either.. Thanks.

Sandy, Yes, they will. So will Lake County Genealogical Society. Cost is $1.00 for the first, $.50 each thereafter. Lisa at the "grins" address below will make a trip to the library to do it for $2.00 each. Still not bad considering the transportation. We are very blessed in Lake County! Hello, Listers, As many of you know, East Cuyahoga County Genealogical Society will soon be publishing their new book, Abstracts of Wills, Estates and Guardianships, Cuyahoga County, Ohio Common Pleas Court, 1811-1852. It has been pointed out that Willoughby Township was a part of Cuyahoga County until 1840. Therefore, anyone who died in Willoughby would have his estate probated in Cuyahoga County. In addition, since this work indexes all the witnesses, heirs, executors, guardians, etc., many Lake County people would likely be included. This may be a wonderful resource for early ancestor research. The society's pre-publication offer and more information about the book is on the NEOCAG web site at http://neocag.net/2003/ECCGS_Book_Flyer.PDF (Requires PDF) Cynthia in Lake County
