    1. [OHLAKE] Electronic Resources online free for Ohio Residents through Columbus Metropolian Library
    2. Cindy MacSuibhne
    3. Hello Everyone, I can’t thank Cynthia Turk enough and wanted to bring this to everyone’s attention. Last night Cynthia emailed me and mentioned she was surprised I didn’t have a Morley Library card to access Heritage Quest and the Sanborn Fire Maps. I’ve been to Morley Library some time ago but never needed a card being from out of town. But it got me thinking, a year or more ago someone posted online that if you were a resident of the State of Ohio you could apply online for a Columbus Metropolitan Library Card, it would be mailed to you and you could access a very large database including Heritage Quest with every census except 1850, a huge collection of newspaper articles, books and Sanborn maps and it’s all free. The online application doesn’t ask for a credit card number, or personal information. The card can’t be used to check out books in the Columbus area for that you have to bring the card in. Well lo and behold thanks to Cynthia’s email to me I dug around my computer desk drawer and there under paper clips, pens and the like was my Columbus Card I’d sent for so long ago and forgotten about. Here’s the website HYPERLINK "http://www.cml.lib.oh.us/"http://www.cml.lib.oh.us/ Simply click on the ‘about the library’ tab and go to ‘the library card’ They mail it to you and then just make sure you have someone like Cynthia email you to remind you that you have it. Thanks Cynthia!! Take care, Cindy --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 3. Hello Everyone, I’ve recently discovered a couple of other family members in my line from Lake County. If someone would kindly please do a lookup for me I’d very much appreciate it. My nearest library source for Ancestry is about 20 miles away in Steubenville, Ohio and it’s snowing pretty good out here in Bowerston. I’m looking for John and Candice JEWELL in 1850, Painesville or Concord I think, and Lucius CHANDLER and wife Adeline in 1870 in Painesville or surrounding areas. This would help me in further writing for other documents in Lake County. Thanks, Cindy --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). The seven sons fits as we had heard that there were 7 Georges but maybe they were talking 7 sons. Maybe 7 is the lucky number! The George we are looking for would have been born in 6/16/1819 in Painsville Ohio.

    2. Richard Sobers
    3. You might try two sources for the information you want: The microfilmed Necrology index card file 1830-1897 of Painesville Ohio. This is an obituary index of deaths published in Painesville newspapers. You can find this under Painesville at an LDS Family History Library in your area and rent a copy of the microfilm. The second possible source would be the Lake County every name index. Again a microfilmed card index that you can get from your local LDS Family History Center. Good hunting!! 3. I have Thomas Lee Wright, who had a sister Mary (Molly) in Perry, OH. From the PAINESVILLE TELEGRAPGH, 25 March 1863 In Perry, on the 24th Mach last, Mr Thomas L. Wright, in the 80th year of his age. Mr. W. was one of the pioneers of Northern Ohio, having removed from the state of New York to Harpersfield, Ashtabla, County, in 1803, where he lived until 1810, when he removed to Perry, and ereceted his first house and made the first improvments in the Township. Being a man of giant frame and constitution, he was well fitted to endure the hardships of pioneer life. He raised a family of seven sons and eight daughters,- the mother of whom having died several years ago, he married another of which he spent the last and best years of his life; having been led, it is believed, through her influences to the Saviour of Sinners, he obtained hope in Christ at the age of 74 years, and was baptized and united with the 2nd Baptsist Church of Perry, and maintained a consistent walk to the day of death, and died in blest assurance of a glorious immortality. "His end was in peace." Thomas' son Charles is said to be the first child born in Perry, OH.
