Retired 10 years from his work as a stationary engineer, Mr. Myers had been in poor health several years. He died Wednesday in City Hospital, Cleveland. He was born Jan. 15, 1870, in Tedrow, O., but spent much of his life in Cleveland where he married Miss Annie Knight on March 3, 1901. Surviving are his wife and, besides Mrs. Wilson, another daughter, Mrs. Ethel Malchow of Mayfield Heights; a sister, Mrs. Annie Schlusser of Miami, Fla.; four brothers, Sam Myers of Battle Creek, Mich., Hamlin Myers of Seattle, Wash., Dan of Fayette, O., and William of Sterling, Ill.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Nixon Funeral Home, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Howard Brown, pastor of the Mayfield Methodist Church, will officiate. Friends may call beginning at 8 tonight at the funeral home. (same newspaper, Saturday, August 11, 1951) Myers Funeral Services Held Services for George Myers, 81, of 845 E. 128th St., Cleveland, who died Wednesday, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Nixon Funeral Home, here. The Rev. Howard Brown, pastor of the Mayfield Methodist Church, and a former Perry minister, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald Wilson, Robert Wilson, George Malchow, Charles Crotty, Jack Crotty and Merlin Myers. Mr. Myers was a father of Mrs. Margaret Wilson of this city.

Jackson St., who died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the Laurels Rest Home, Cleveland, after a lingering illness. Wife of the late George Myers who died last August, Mrs. Myers formerly made her home at 845 E. 128th St., Cleveland. She was born May 21, 1879, in Leistershire, England, the youngest of 13 children of James and Matilda Knight. Her parents were well known here. Mrs. Myers came to the country at the age of 18. She formerly was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Cleveland. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Wilson of Painesville and Mrs. Ethel Malchow of Mayfield Heights, and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Nixon Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Brown, formerly of Perry and now of Cleveland, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call tonight at the funeral home.

"Gramma Jean" Leonard, 86, of Memphis, Tenn., and Perry, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., in Painesville. Mrs. Leonard died Dec. 5, 2003, at Methodist Health Care North in Memphis, Tenn. She was born June 13, 1917, in Erie, Pa. She was a member of Calvary-Fellowship Baptist Church in Painesville. Mrs. Leonard worked as a beam tender at IRC Fibers for 35 years, retiring in 1980. Survivors are her daughters, Rebecca (James) Lawhon of Memphis, Tenn., Carol (Donald) Bixler of Pontiac, Ill., and Christine (Albert) Lett of Perry; brothers, Jonathan (Rita) Cantrick of Mentor, and David (Bessie) Cantrick of Painesville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves good friend Samantha Rohaley. Her husband, Harry Leonard; son, Dale Leonard, parents, Harry and Laura (Brick) Cantrick; and sister, Betty Molyneux, are deceased. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Doug Reeder of Calvary-Fellowship Baptist Church will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.

    3. Hi, Cindy and Listers, Guess what? HeritageQuest Online now has the 1850 census, too. Most of the federal census images are now on the site for browsing. Unfortunately the 1840, 1850 and a few others are not yet indexed. Coming soon, I hear. Another tip--if you want to know what states are actually on-line, do a search for a name like Smith, and the states that are not there come up shaded out. Another tip--if you want to print a full sheet of census to a full sheet of paper, go to "Download" then "View" and then print. I love this database!!
