I've "rescued" an old photograph of G. O. MAHAFFEY which was taken at the M. A. Loomis Studio in Jefferson, Ohio. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Mr. MAHAFFEY appearing to be in his 40's or 50's at the time it was taken. The photograph was recovered along with one of Fred WOOD also from Jefferson, OH though I have no idea if there is a connection, but I mention this just in case it provides a clue. Based on limited research I was able to locate the family in census records as follows: 1870 census of Mt. Vernon, OH: William MAHAFFEY, age 48, a Blacksmith, born OH, parents born PA Margaret J. MAHAFFEY, wife, age 48, Keeps House, born OH, parents born OH/MD Gilman MAHAFFEY, son, age 23, a Student, born OH Joseph F. MAHAFFEY, son, age 20, a Laborer, born OH William E. MAHAFFEY, son, age 18, at School, born OH Casander MAHAFFEY, son, age 13, at School, born OH Hugh L. MAHAFFEY, son, age 7, born OH 1910 census of Jefferson Township, OH: Gilman O. MAHAFFEY, age 53, married 19 years, born OH, parents born OH, a Physician Jennie MAHAFFEY, wife, age 47, married 19 years, no children, born OH, parents born OH I am hoping to locate someone from this MAHAFFEY Family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family.
